Chapter 356 Who is the Noblewoman?
She tilted her head, her long hair reaching her waist. Under her wide sleeves were slender wrists, adorned with a gemstone bracelet beside a watch, exuding an air of elegance. "Your medical skills are even better than you said."
"Not bad." Adeline gave her a few more reminders. "The doctor probably told you too, let go of some things, and you'll feel better."
The woman was stunned for a moment, then suddenly smiled. "Do you and your brother have any plans later?"
Adeline was about to say they needed to go home.
But the look in the woman's eyes told her she hoped she would say no.
So, Adeline shook her head.
The woman immediately said, "Let me treat you to some beer. Oh, right, kids can't drink. Your brother can have a Coke. How about we get some fried chicken?"
Adeline couldn't eat.
But when Robert heard "fried chicken," his eyes lit up like stars in the sky, and he nodded enthusiastically!
He tugged on Adeline's sleeve, his little face serious, gesturing: You can't leave a lost soul wandering the streets. What if she encounters something evil and gets hurt again?
Adeline lifted his face, checking his teeth. "You know quite a lot."
Then, Adeline turned and smiled. "There's a restaurant up ahead. After we eat, have your family come pick you up."
"Great!" The woman responded happily.
She found it strange herself, feeling so close to a young girl.
It was probably because of her eyes. When she looked at her, there was no fear like others had.
The woman knew very well how people around her looked when she had an episode.
Every time her husband looked at her, his eyes were filled with fear and pain.
She wasn't sure if her condition was improving or worsening.
The good part was that some painful memories were becoming more and more blurred. She used to have an episode once a month, now it was only once every six months.
The bad part was that her mind was very chaotic.
She had no logic in what she did, and she couldn't understand her previous work at all.
Although her husband said she didn't need to do those things, she didn't want to just stay at home. She almost forgot what she used to be like.
And she always felt like she had forgotten something very important to her.
She would even cry in her sleep, but she just couldn't remember.
The restaurant was open 24 hours, and since this was in the city, it was surrounded by office buildings. One could see people working late coming down to buy coffee and burgers.
Adeline was placing an order at the self-service machine.
Robert was enthusiastically placing orders.
The woman drank her cold beer, and as she bit into the fries, her eyes squinted in satisfaction. "It's been so long since I felt this relaxed. Fried food really does make people happy."
"Then have it occasionally." Adeline rolled up Robert's sleeves, her tear mole hidden as she looked down.
The woman looked at her, momentarily dazed.
Adeline raised an eyebrow.
The woman then smiled. "Do I look like a middle-aged person mooching off food and drinks?"
"No, you don't look middle-aged at all." Adeline helped her squeeze some ketchup. "I haven't taken him out for this kind of food in a long time either. It's a nice memory."
Robert, with a chicken wing in his mouth, nodded vigorously, his little hands gesturing.
The woman understood. "Your grandma doesn't let you eat this?"
Robert froze, his eyes wide: She understands!
Adeline also glanced down.
The woman smiled and said, "I used to be a teacher and learned a bit of sign language."
