Chapter 76 Her Medical Skills
"Stop bringing her up!" Angela snapped, clearly fed up with the mention of Adeline. "Stella, you're still young. You don't get it. When people hit rock bottom, they'll do anything to latch onto you. You think she's changed? She's just trying to survive."
Stella frowned. "But she knows her stuff about medicine. Even Nicholas showed up earlier."
Angela's eyes widened. "Wait, the Livingston family picked her?"
Stella bit her lip. "Not exactly. She's with the Taylor Family. It's Oliver from the Taylors who's the real deal."
Angela sneered. "So she wormed her way into the Taylor Family. I underestimated Summer. Even on her deathbed, she used her connections!"
Stella's eyes flickered. "So Grandma's actually good at medicine, right?"
Angela scoffed. "She's killed people with her treatments. Even if she has some skills, her reputation is trashed. Only the Taylors would give her any respect."
Stella looked down, deep in thought.
"Stella," Angela said, taking her hand. "Don't worry. Our priority is to reconnect with the Livingston family."
Stella looked up. "I have an idea."
Angela's eyes lit up. "What is it?"
Stella looked away. "I left the Whispering Fern at the Livingston estate on purpose. I can use it as an excuse to go back. Mom, was that wrong?"
"My dear, that's brilliant! You're so smart!" Angela beamed. "How can Adeline compare to you? She's not even in the same league!"
Hearing Angela mention Adeline again, Stella's eyes, hiding a hint of malice, became unreadable.
Angela couldn't understand why Stella was so fixated on Adeline. To keep her focused on the Livingstons, Angela did everything she could to belittle Adeline.
But Adeline was indeed both stupid and foolish!
Stella suddenly asked, "Mom, who did the Cooper family piss off to fall so hard? Could it be related to Grandma's Whispering Fern?"
"The Coopers have made plenty of enemies over the years!" Angela was already fuming about Sara. "Stop thinking everything is about Summer. With Sara's greedy ways, maybe one of her students ratted her out!"
Stella thought that made sense. Since it was the operation unit that came, there must have been a snitch.
It might even be that intern doctor in the video. She needed to think carefully about how to use the Whispering Fern to change the Livingstons' opinion of her.
After all, even if Adeline knew medicine, it didn't mean much.
Meanwhile, Adeline, who was about to leave the estate with Oliver and the others, was stopped by a black-suited bodyguard from the Livingston family.
The guard was polite and even a bit respectful. "Ms. Martinez, please wait. Mr. Livingston would like to see you."
