Chapter 345 Adeline Made Lyle Admire Her!
For a moment, the crowd was overwhelming.
Lyle looked at the unprecedented scene, his shoes having been stepped on multiple times.
His collar was crooked, and even after adjusting it, he still felt reluctant. "Ms. Vanderbilt, are we just leaving like this? If you ask John for that incense burner, he'll definitely give it to you!"
Adeline strung the Verdant Coin with a red thread and put it in her bag, smiling. "Lyle, we can't be greedy for other people's blessings. Excess leads to misfortune. Besides, John isn't a bad person; he uses genuine items."
The price was high, but it was not fake, and it was reasonable within a controllable range.
After listening, Lyle touched his head. "I thought you would think I'm someone who often gets ripped off. I always get goods from him, and his prices are obviously high."
"Nowadays, good items are scarce, and there are few who genuinely do business in this field." Adeline was smart and saw things clearly. "Lyle, you were born here and don't want to see this place decline. After all, our ancestors' things used to come from here. You just want to preserve as much as you can."
Lyle paused; he had been born in Antique Alley.
When his grandfather was alive, he was most concerned about the items that had wandered outside.
Lyle didn't have the ability to buy them back, so he just wanted to ensure that those genuinely dealing in items in Antique Alley could make money, so at least the aesthetic of the common folk wouldn't be lost.
What he didn't expect was that Adeline would see through his thoughts.
Lyle looked at Adeline and suddenly smiled. "Ms. Vanderbilt, I apologize for any offense I may have caused before. Please bear with me. I finally understand why Mr. Vanderbilt values you so much."
He added, "To be honest, at first, I was biased against you. Mainly because, as you can see, everything in this area is about circles. The less you know, the slower you integrate. It was my narrow-mindedness. Your grace and knowledge don't need to fit into any circle."
Lyle was now very happy. "You really remind me of Mr. Vanderbilt when he was young. It's right for Mr. Vanderbilt to hand the company over to you. I agree!"
"Company?" Adeline rubbed her wrist. "I haven't planned to take over. We'll talk about it later."
With that, she raised her hand and strung one of the Coins, giving it to Lyle. "This Coin, although its condition is average, can attract wealth when carried."
Lyle didn't expect to receive one himself. His eyes widened, and he quickly waved his hand. "No, I can't accept this, Ms. Vanderbilt. This is too valuable."
"Valuable? It's not as expensive as you think." Adeline stuffed the Coin into his pocket.
Lyle wanted to say something more, but then he saw Adeline acting nonchalantly, slightly exerting force on the knife handle, revealing a lotus shape on the last Coin.
It didn't look like a Verdant Coin.
Lyle stared and asked, "Ms. Vanderbilt, what is this?"
"A little toy." Adeline said. She strung the Coin, paired it with a bell, and put it on Robert's wrist.
Robert looked at the item on his hand, shaking it back and forth, meaning, 'Will this thing keep me from going crazy?'
"Temporarily. I'll replace it with a suitable one when we find it." Adeline touched his head, smiling faintly. "But even if you go crazy, it's okay. I'm here."
