Chapter 260 Clear Love and Hate

Adeline's memory was astonishingly good, as if she still had the layout of Sulfur Mountain Village in her mind. "That family was severely poisoned by me. They shouldn't be in the village now; they should be heading towards somewhere they can get treatment. I suggest we split into two groups and check the hospitals."

Charles listened quietly without interrupting.

Adeline looked at him seriously. "Bring Jessica and Leroy here. I have questions for them."

Charles fiddled with his bracelet and didn't waste words. "Okay."

Adeline liked being around him for this very reason.

He always made people feel comfortable.

He never asked why; he simply helped her.

Nathan wanted to chime in but didn't know what to say.

Was Adeline really switched at birth?

Nathan hadn't forgotten the first time he met Adeline.

He truly thought she was Savannah if Adeline hadn't denied it.

Jessica and Leroy had given him some information.

Nathan would have wanted to take Adeline for a test.

Jessica and Leroy said Savannah was thin and small, only started walking at fourteen or fifteen, and was pretty but very short.

Nathan now suspected even that was a lie.

But Adeline never liked being forced, and she had said she never left Eldoria since she was a child.

Nathan's mind was in turmoil. He decided to find Jessica and Leroy first and interrogate them to get to the truth.

Lorenzo was still running a high fever, and his desire to find Savannah made him push forward despite his condition.

Nathan softly advised, "I can go by myself. You should check on your injury first."

"I'm fine; you go get the car," Lorenzo insisted.

Adeline knew she couldn't stop him, so she simply checked his body.

Lorenzo raised an eyebrow in surprise.

Adeline's advice was very practical. "You should disinfect and get an IV immediately, and have a good rest. Your wound is severely infected and might need surgery."

"The biggest responsibility for Savannah getting lost lies with Pentti and me," Suddenly, Lorenzo spoke of the past in a low voice. "If only we had kept a better eye on her."

Pentti Vanderbilt was the sixth grandson of the Vanderbilt Family.

"We bought her toys to amuse her, but in just a blink, she was gone."

Lorenzo's voice was hoarse. "You saved me from the cellar. Now, when I close my eyes, I wonder if Savannah was ever in that cellar too. How did such a small child survive?"

"In a village like that, could she have survived? Or has she been assimilated like the little girl we encountered?"

Lorenzo hung his head, his eyes red. "I need to ask those bastards myself!"

"I'll give you three hours," Adeline said, raising her hand and deftly inserting silver needles into him. "In three hours, whether you get answers or not, have Nathan bring you to find me."

With Adeline's assurance, Nathan felt relieved.

Ever since Holly's incident, Adeline had distanced herself from the Vanderbilt Family.

Adeline was a person of clear distinctions between love and hate. She didn't understand the Vanderbilt Family's actions. But in Lorenzo, she saw his determination.

And she admired his character; even in such dire circumstances, he was still thinking of protecting her and Cadence.

She would repay kindness with even greater kindness.

"After you get in the car, you'll be very thirsty. Drink plenty of water to detoxify first," Adeline said calmly. "Don't rush. Things will turn around, and your wishes will come true. You will find your sister."

Lorenzo smiled, his eyes bright. "Okay."
