Chapter 71 Testing Each Other

Adeline slipped out with the crowd, adjusting her deep red baseball cap with a cool demeanor, as if none of this had anything to do with her.

Oscar scratched his head. "Who do you think pulled this off?"

Adeline shrugged. "No clue."

Oscar rubbed his chin. "Yeah, how would you know? Even Oliver's got nothing!"

Oliver seemed lost in thought. "Yep."

Adeline shot him a glance, her voice cool. "What goes around comes around. If you haven't done anything wrong, there's nothing to worry about."

Oscar nodded. "I'm not worried. I don't practice medicine, and my grandpa's too busy drinking to care about this stuff."

Oliver looked up. "I'm not scared either."

Adeline gave a faint smile. "Grandma always said that when she was in trouble, only Aaron stood by her. He'll be fine."

Oliver finally relaxed, muttering, "I've hated the Cooper family for ages. Last time at the hospital, they were so rude, trying to push people around. I gave them a piece of my mind. Whoever did this, hats off to them!"

"Totally," Adeline said, accepting the compliment without a hint of embarrassment.

Oliver echoed, "Exactly!"

Adeline walked ahead, a slight smile on her face. As she neared the exit of the inner hall, she paused, glancing back up at the top floor of the manor.

There was a glass room with the best view of the whole place.

The Livingston family, definitely not to be underestimated.

Adeline turned back and melted into the crowd.

Outside the manor, Angela, who wasn't part of the main group, was blissfully unaware of the drama, happily munching on desserts.

She chatted with people around her.

"Yeah, my daughter Stella just started with Ms. Cooper."

Someone praised her, "You really know how to raise kids. My son can't compare."

Angela laughed. "Stella's pretty low-maintenance. She's at a university in Zelphoria."

"Zelphoria!"

The group was super envious.

These folks weren't in the loop.

Only those in the inner hall knew about the Special Operations Unit taking people away.

The Livingston family was always good at keeping things under wraps.

Plus, Charles knew about the operation from the get-go.

Otherwise, it wouldn't have gone so smoothly.

The Special Operations Unit even thanked him.

Charles, in his suit, stood in the glass room at the top of the manor, looking out over the estate, his eyes calm. "Mr. Hughes, no need for formalities. The Livingston family isn't perfect; our system got breached too. My team dropped the ball."

Patrick, in charge of security, didn't dare lift his head.

Brandon Hughes said, "The informant this time is no joke. Ruthless and a cyber whiz. We're reaching out to the hacker alliance to track them down."

"You couldn't figure out who did it either?" Charles twisted the crimson bracelet on his wrist, his eyes deep and a faint smile on his lips.
