Chapter 285 Alexander Gives the Company to Adeline
The more Alexander listened, the tighter he gripped his cane.
Kai, still unaware of any wrongdoing, continued, "Dad, Mia and I have discussed it. It's not a solution to keep putting Holly in such an awkward position. Why don't we have a family meeting soon and formally adopt Holly in front of our relatives? What do you think?"
"No way." Alexander nearly crushed his cane, his eyes narrowing. "Have you forgotten that you have your own biological daughter?"
Mentioning his biological daughter made Kai pause, his voice turning hoarse. "Dad, it's been so many years. Can she really be found? What if she's already..."
"Shut up!" Alexander's chest heaved with anger. "How did I end up with such a bastard for a son!"
Alexander hung up the phone, still breathing heavily.
On the other side, Kai sat on the couch for a long time.
He didn't want just anyone to replace Savannah.
But Savannah had been gone for too long.
One couldn't stay trapped in sorrow forever.
Kai opened his phone, looking at the photos of Savannah stored in his album, and murmured to himself, "Savannah, if you were still here, you'd understand us, right? You were always so sensible. You wouldn't want us to be stuck in the pain of losing you."

He understood Alexander's stubbornness. He, too, hoped Savannah would come back.

From the tone on the other end of the call, Terry thought it might be better not to say anything. "The fewer people who know about Ms. Vanderbilt before she returns to Zelphoria, the better. Once we bring Ms. Vanderbilt back to the old mansion, it will be clear who the real heiress of the Vanderbilt Family is."
Alexander knew Terry was referring to the company's internal traitor. Considering Kai's unreliability, he said, "Prepare some documents and start the legal process. The Vanderbilt Group will be left to Savannah."

"Then he can adopt whoever he wants!" Alexander said.
Adeline watched this scene from upstairs, her gaze falling on Alexander's slightly hunched back and white hair.
Adeline wouldn't let this love go to waste. She didn't care about the Vanderbilt Family, but she wouldn't let anyone hurt Alexander for any reason.
Adeline didn't hide that she had overheard the conversation. She walked over with a light laugh. "You're so biased towards me, giving me the whole company. What about my brothers?"
