Chapter 316 Someone Wants to Harm Grandpa

Kai still wanted to say something.

Alexander was so angry that he could hardly breathe.

As soon as anyone approached him, he would cough violently.

Kai didn't really want to make Alexander angry. Who would have thought that when he tried to calm him down, Alexander would cough up a mouthful of blood all over him!

Kai was completely panicked. "Dad! What's wrong? Dad!"

"Go away." Alexander gasped.

Just then, Terry walked in quickly. "Mr. Alexander Vanderbilt, it's Ms. Vanderbilt on the phone. She can arrive in Zelphoria this afternoon! Do you want to... Mr. Alexander Vanderbilt!"

Terry's initially joyful face turned to panic upon seeing Alexander's condition.

Alexander seemed to calm down a bit. "Savannah's call? Quick, give it to me!"

"But you..." Terry was worried.

Adeline could hear from the other side and frowned slightly. "Grandpa? What's wrong with you?"

"I'm fine, Adeline. It's just Terry overreacting." Alexander didn't want Adeline to worry and tried to steady his breath. "What do you and your grandma want to eat? I'll have the chef cook for you. How about staying at the Vanderbilt estate tonight?"

Adeline, being skilled in medicine, could hear the labored breathing and her voice turned cold. "Grandpa, turn on the camera."

"Savannah," Alexander refused. "I'm really fine."

As he spoke, he waved his hand, signaling Terry to get Kai out of there.

Kai also heard the voice on the other end of the phone.

So this was their Savannah!

He wanted to get closer and say something.

Terry directly covered his mouth and dragged him out.

Alexander didn't want Adeline to know the unpleasant things Kai had said.

Adeline sensed something was off. "Grandpa, is there someone with you?"

"A manager from the company." Alexander suppressed his cough.

Adeline assessed his condition by listening. "Grandpa, I'm a doctor. Don't hide these things from me. Did someone make you angry?"

"It's just work," Alexander said.

Adeline didn't press further. "Grandpa, if you want me to come to your estate today, let me check your symptoms. Your trachea and lungs seem to be infected. Have you been coughing up blood?"

Alexander knew he couldn't hide it anymore, so he turned on the camera and looked at the phone screen.

Adeline observed his complexion, her gaze falling on his purplish lips, her eyes turning cold. "Grandpa, has anyone tampered with the food you ate today?"

"No, Terry has always delivered it personally." Alexander coughed violently.

Then it was not a dietary issue.

Could it be something inhaled?

Adeline's voice was steady. "Grandpa, have someone open the windows. Remember, no matter what happens today, don't get angry. Wait for me to get there."

"Okay, I'll wait for you!" Alexander was happy. "You'll definitely like the room I've prepared for you!"

Adeline smiled. "Grandpa, promise me you won't get angry. You can't go back on your word."

"You're coming, so I won't get angry." Alexander felt much better now.

Adeline comforted him for a while longer and then said, "Grandpa, give the phone to Terry. I need to ask him something."

Terry had just managed to get Kai out.

Kai was still feeling aggrieved, thinking Alexander wouldn't even let him speak on the phone.

Terry quickly took the phone. "Ms. Vanderbilt, Mr. Alexander Vanderbilt's health..."

"I know, his lungs are poisoned." Adeline's voice was very cold. "Terry, remove everything in the room related to scents and give them to me later. Also, I need to know everyone Grandpa met today."

If the environment was not the issue, then there was only one possibility left.

The poison was brought by someone.
