Chapter 297 Give That Girl a Warning
Vincent's grip on the phone tightened gradually.
The person on the other end lowered his voice. "Dad, the project in Ravenwood County is done for. This time, it was the highest action team that made the arrests, and the Livingston family intervened. We have no choice but to abandon it. I'm worried that if we make another move, we'll be exposed."
"The Livingston family?" Vincent squinted. "Since when did the Livingston family get involved in this kind of thing?"
"Dad, could it be that the Miller Family has already teamed up with the Livingston family?"
Vincent seemed to be in deep thought. "No, the Livingston family never forms alliances."
"Jesse's investigation is going too smoothly. That adopted daughter of the Martinez Family is really a troublemaker!" The person on the other end seemed to be gritting his teeth as he spoke, clearly hating Adeline.
Vincent's eyes turned cold. "Is she involved in this again?"
"If it weren't for her live broadcast, the issues in Ravenwood County wouldn't have become known nationwide. Now the impact is too severe, and we can't operate in the shadows anymore."
"Even Salvador has been arrested." The voice on the other end was very somber. "Dad, he knows a lot. I'm worried he won't hold out for long."
Vincent placed the cigar he was holding aside. "Find a way to tell him that as long as he keeps his mouth shut, his wife, daughter, and his eighty-year-old mother can live worry-free in Zelphoria for the rest of their lives."
"Understood."
Vincent's face darkened. "How's the investigation on that girl going?"
"She's from Eastgate Towns, one of those kids who were abducted over a decade ago. Her parents are unknown." Pax Jones sneered. "After all the digging, she's dirt poor. The only tricky part is her identity as a popular streamer, which makes it hard to get to her."
Vincent's voice was aged. "Hard to get to? Then give her a warning. You're in Eldoria now. With your status, a little girl like her will definitely think twice when she sees you. Three strikes and you're out. If she's smart, she should understand not to hinder the Jones family's development."
"You're right. She's being honored by the state tomorrow." Pax's voice lowered. "I'll make sure she gets the message."
Vincent's eyes gleamed with malice. "She really is like her grandmother."
Pax got dressed. "Dad, don't worry. If we really want her to disappear, it would be easy."
Vincent rubbed his temples. "Alright, don't always be so ruthless. Give these ordinary people a chance; consider it as accumulating virtue for the Jones family. Get on with the task Albert assigned you."
"The Mitchell Family has already been screened. They'll be sent to Zelphoria in a while, but the numbers are still insufficient. We need to find more," Pax said, his anger rising again. "If it weren't for that girl interfering, we would have had ready candidates in Ravenwood County."
Vincent was indifferent. "The Mitchell Family has their ways. They don't just have hospitals in Eldoria; they have holdings elsewhere too."
"I understand." Pax laughed.
Vincent seemed tired. "Go on, don't waste any more time."
"Yes."
At the Lumina Vitae Foundation, everyone was gathered together, drinking tea and chatting.
Charles was playing a supporting role, while Adeline added orange peels to the teapot, giving the tea a fruity aroma.
Alexander had originally planned to meet with the Martinez Family and then return to Zelphoria.
Now, even after dinner, he still didn't want to leave.
Nathan stood by, urging, "Mr. Vanderbilt, it's not safe to drive at night. How about we leave early?"
There was still a ton of work waiting in Zelphoria.
"Nathan, you and Grandpa take two bodyguards and take a train back." Adeline handed over her phone. "The tickets are already bought."
