Chapter 84 Academic Performance

The next day, the sun was shining bright. Adeline was still in bed, but there were already noises outside the clinic.

Robert popped in twice, making gestures by her bedside, but she was too lazy to open her eyes.

It wasn't until Summer called out, "Adeline, it's Thursday. Why aren't you at school?"

Adeline finally got herself together and walked out. "No classes this morning."

Summer seemed to read her mind and sighed deeply. "If you're having trouble with your studies, just tell me. It's okay. Vanessa mentioned there are tutors available now. Should we get you one?"

Robert looked up in disbelief when he heard that.

Adeline smiled, gathered her long hair, and tied it into a high ponytail, making the mole at the corner of her eye more noticeable. "No need; I can handle it."

Summer was still a bit worried and looked down to find her phone. "You were last in your class last semester. Your teacher said if your grades don't improve this semester, they'll call your parents. Well, I have to find you a tutor. Oliver seems to be doing well in his studies; I'll call him over."

Summer was already dialing.

The wind chime on the door rang, signaling a guest had arrived.

Adeline looked over at the sound. It was her patient she hadn't seen in three days, standing tall and elegant.

Charles, with his long legs and tailored suit, exuded an air of nobility. His handsome and refined face seemed to have heard something amusing, and he raised an eyebrow.

Then, he tilted his head and looked at her with a smile, as if to say, "Are You last in your class?"

In front of others, Summer would definitely save face for Adeline, especially since they were all Adeline's friends.

"You guys have fun. I'll go inside and talk to Oliver alone," Summer said as she walked away with her phone.

Adeline wasn't embarrassed at all and nodded towards Charles. "Come in."

Patrick followed behind Charles, still shocked. Was Adeline's academic performance really that bad?

Seeing that she couldn't explain, Adeline simply didn't bother and asked Charles, "Why haven't you come these past two days?"

Charles raised his hand and coughed lightly. "I've been a bit busy."

"You haven't been resting well." Adeline looked at his face.

Patrick immediately said, "He didn't go to bed until five in the morning yesterday! His body couldn't take it today, and he's been coughing non-stop!"

Charles gave him a cold glance.

Then Patrick fell silent.

Adeline yawned. "Patients need to rest well, eat more, and sleep more. Only then can their immune system recover."

Charles fiddled with his bracelet and lifted his eyelids slightly. "You look like you need more rest than I do."

Adeline sat in the recliner, lazily. "Yeah, I'm really tired. I keep dreaming of being chased. I don't know how the other person has so much energy."

The Livingston family members were still in the operation unit late at night. Didn't they get tired?

Hearing this, Patrick scratched the back of his head. Charles was chasing people in real life, and Adeline was being chased in her dreams? That was oddly coincidental.

Adeline didn't overthink it, just listened to Charles's breathing as she examined him, frowning slightly.

Her sudden action caught Charles off guard. They were very close, so close that when he looked down, he could see the mole at the corner of her eye and her slightly fluttering eyelashes.

This was a level of intimacy Charles had never experienced before.
