Chapter 17 The Century-Old Organization
Right now, Sara, the one the old man mentioned, was chilling in a private room at the Caesar Hotel, taking in some new students.
Even though she ran into Adeline today, the Martinez Family was on their best behavior, which made her feel a bit better.
At the table, Angela buttered up, "Stella, pour some tea for Ms. Cooper."
Sara, feeling pretty pleased, said, "From now on, you're my student."
Angela and Henry were over the moon hearing that.
Just as everyone was about to toast, someone barged into the room, all out of breath!
"Ms. Cooper, something went wrong!" he panted.
Sara, annoyed, snapped, "Why the rush? Spit it out."
The guy handed over a phone, struggling to speak, "The Zephyrox Alliance kicked the Cooper family out."
"What?" Sara's face went white as a sheet, her hand shook, and hot tea spilled everywhere.
"Ms. Cooper?" Stella asked, worried and uneasy.
Sara didn't even care about the mess. She grabbed the phone and saw the expulsion order from Adeline. Her head spun, and she felt like she was gonna pass out.
She couldn't stand and collapsed into a chair.
"How could this happen? Why now?"
It hit her out of nowhere, no warning at all.
"Who did it?" she yelled at her students, her hair a mess, all her grace gone. "Who ticked off the Zephyrox Alliance?"
"The Zephyrox Alliance? What's that?" The med students looked clueless. It sounded like something out of a novel. What did it have to do with them?
Sara's mind raced. Only the top dogs in the medical field knew about the Zephyrox Alliance. Every year, they helped out major hospitals and medical families.
The Cooper family had been on top of the other big medical families because of the Zephyrox Alliance.
This info was way out of reach for regular med students and common folks.
Now that the Zephyrox Alliance had booted the whole Cooper family, what was gonna happen to them?
Sara shook with fear, too scared to think about it.
Of course, with her pride, she never would've guessed that Adeline, the one she looked down on, would be the reason for the Cooper family's downfall.
She still couldn't wrap her head around why the Cooper family, who always treated the Zephyrox Alliance like royalty, got blacklisted.
Could it be that the Cooper family's shady moves at the hospital got exposed by the Zephyrox Alliance?
No way, right? They always checked the patient's background before doing anything sketchy. Those poor folks with no connections were easy targets; they were ignorant and had no way to fight back. How could the Zephyrox Alliance know about these nobodies?
"Ms. Cooper..." Angela, seeing her freaked-out look, tried to comfort her. "The Zephyrox Alliance is just a small group. Everyone knows the Cooper family's top dog in Eldoria. No need to stress."
Sara shot Angela a glare, thinking, 'How can she be so clueless? The Zephyrox Alliance has been around for a hundred years!'
The Zephyrox Alliance was based in Zelphoria and had saved countless lives during the chaos a century ago!
