Chapter 192 Interrogation Under Duress
Jesse's voice was cold. "Are you asking us to bribe you?"
He knew Eldoria was chaotic; otherwise, the Cooper family incident wouldn't have happened.
The entire medical unit had swindled the people's money and even cost them their lives!
But he didn't expect this group to be so blatantly corrupt!
Yesterday on the phone, Jack had told him that these issues no longer existed in Eldoria!
Jesse clenched his fist; in his view, everything needed to be investigated!
The cop leisurely said, "Accusing law enforcement right off the bat? I don't think you need a trial!"
Saying this, he put down his pen and stared at them.
Having been in the station for a long time, he could see through some things.
Adeline and her group were tough to deal with; even if they were interrogated until nightfall, there would be no result.
The cop's gaze fell on Adeline.
He didn't believe that a young girl like her could withstand their interrogation tactics!
"Take her out for a separate interrogation!"
As soon as he spoke, Daniel knew what he was up to; he wanted to force Adeline to confess through separate interrogation!
"I dare you!" Daniel immediately stood up!
The cop punched him in the chest. "What are you yelling for? This is the police station! If you don't cooperate, you'll regret it!"
The punch came without warning.
Adeline, standing at a distance, couldn't stop it, and her eyes turned cold.
Daniel had never experienced this before; he coughed, his chest aching.
Adeline's eyes glowed with a cold light; no one saw how she moved.
She was already in front of the cop, her eyes filled with hostility.
Seeing this, he got scared. "Try touching me, and I'll make sure you rot in jail!"
Don't use force, Adeline!
Daniel was still struggling to breathe but knew that if she did use force, the situation would escalate. "Ms. Vanderbilt, I'm fine. It's nothing serious."
He was still dazed from the punch.
Was his status in Eldoria not enough?
Why hadn't the city office taken any action yet?
How long had it been? Was it that hard to make a phone call?
Could Jack be intentionally stalling?
Thinking of this, Daniel glanced at Jesse. "Mr. Miller, we need to get out of here quickly."
Jesse's face darkened as he looked at the interrogator who had just barged in and said, word by word, "I served in the military and have commendations. Go get Victor."
He actually knew Victor?
The cop paused!
With such a commotion in the police station, Ernest couldn't ignore it; he was also a bit annoyed.
Why was the task from the Martinez Family so troublesome this time?
"They haven't confessed yet?" Ernest asked an interrogator before entering the station.
The interrogator whispered, "Mr. Sullivan, one of them knows Mr. Hudson."
"Nonsense. If he really knew Mr. Hudson, wouldn't I know?" Ernest dismissed it.
The office phone had rung more than twenty times.
He hadn't answered a single call. Entering the interrogation hall, he raised an eyebrow and asked Jesse, "You're the one who wants to see Mr. Hudson?"
Ernest's face was sinister. "I don't care where you're from, but in Eldoria, you better follow the rules!"
Jesse's eyes were cold as he smiled. "I'm the new city secretary-general, and on my first day, a bureau chief is telling me to follow the rules. Does Jack know?"
"You? City secretary-general?" Ernest scoffed. "What a joke..."
Before he could finish, there was a loud bang!
