Chapter 332 Adeline Breaks into Antique Alley
Adeline had some thoughts she needed to sort out.
She wanted to clear her mind before telling him.
But Charles, being sensitive and perceptive, asked, "Are you worried I'll be in danger on the highway?"
"Yes," Adeline met his gaze.
Charles looked into her eyes and chuckled softly, "I'll listen to whatever you say."
This made Adeline's eyes flicker slightly, "Then be careful of the people around you."
"Got it." Charles tucked her long hair behind her ear, "If the Vanderbilt Family needs me, just let me know. After all, I've lived in Zelphoria longer than you and know more about it."
Adeline didn't hold back, "I do need you to arrange a meeting with a designer."
"Who?" Charles asked.
Adeline handed over a business card, "A foreign designer, Kieran Thornton."
Charles's eyes darkened, "Another one from the Thornton Family."
"You know him? That makes it easier," Adeline said nonchalantly, "He designed the Vanderbilt Villa. I want to ask him about his inspiration."
Charles took the card and held it between his fingers, "I remember you once mentioned making divination scientific."
"Yes, I did," Adeline didn't want to argue with him, "I know a bit about it. The design he did for the Vanderbilt Family has issues. If you know him, don't let him fool you."
Charles's lips curved slightly, "So, is there anything else I don't know about you?"
"That's all," Adeline leaned closer to him, suddenly realizing something, "Were you a bit angry just now?"
Charles put away the card and denied, "No."
"Because I mentioned the past?" Adeline guessed.
Charles's tone was indifferent, "You're overthinking it."
Just after he said that, Charles added, "Although your taste in the past wasn't great, it's good now."
He left this inexplicable comment and walked away.
Adeline found it hard to understand.
The outside world said that Charles from the Livingston family was noble, steady, and emotionally reserved.
Why was he always so elusive with her?
He had mentioned her poor taste several times.
Could he even count?
Adeline thought about her past.
It wasn't much.
She just liked beautiful things.
Little did she know, Charles cared about something else.
For example, why she used to affectionately call that person from the Mitchell Family.
Just thinking about it made Charles's heart feel like it was being squeezed.
From his perspective, she was only passively with him.
If he hadn't schemed and planned every step from the beginning, would she have agreed to be with him?
Noah had told him when he was young.
He shouldn't have obsessions.
Others could, but he couldn't.
Once he did, the consequences would be something no one wanted to see.
But sometimes, the more one cared about someone, the more obsessed they became.
He wanted her to belong to him completely.
He wanted her to be willing, and he wanted her to need him as much as he needed her.
Adeline had no idea what Charles was thinking now.
She was still thinking about going to Antique Alley to pick something.
Unexpectedly, Alexander had arranged someone for her.
As soon as she got out of the car with Robert, a man in a suit, holding a bracelet, approached.
The man smiled warmly, standing out in the crowd because of his attire.
He looked more like a con artist than a divination master.
"You must be Ms. Vanderbilt, please come in!"
