Chapter 275 Talk About the Engagement

Nathan was always a bit dazed. He had been searching for Savannah for so long that he even asked Adeline to help find her whereabouts.

Now that he thought about it, Nathan felt quite embarrassed.

Adeline hadn't changed much. When she saw him, she called out, "Nathan."

Nathan coughed at being called; he didn't dare respond!

Seeing his reaction, Adeline raised an eyebrow.

Nathan steadied his emotions and, with a somewhat unnatural respect, said, "Can we talk somewhere else?"

"I think I know what you want to say. Are you in a hurry?" Adeline chuckled nonchalantly. "If not, I'd like to have some Mexican food with your relative first."

Surgery was physically demanding.

Along the way, all she had eaten was that bowl of medicated instant noodles, and now she was really hungry.

Nathan wanted to say he was not his relative.

But with Charles right next to him, he didn't dare say it.

And Adeline said she knew what he wanted to say?

Could she have already guessed?

Nathan's eyes widened, unsure, and he hurriedly said, "Mr. Vanderbilt is on his way here."

"Got it." Adeline smiled. "Nathan, do you want to join us for a bite? You can't skip meals with your health."

She was just the same as before, no different at all.

Nathan was touched. He understood Adeline's meaning, patted his stomach, and laughed cheerfully. "I'm not hungry. You guys go ahead."

"Alright, I'll pack some pasta for you," Adeline said, then added. "The one who had surgery has strong drug resistance. He'll probably wake up soon. Give him some soup, but nothing else. He hasn't eaten for a long time and won't be able to adapt immediately."

Nathan nodded and took note of everything.

Adeline was smart. She knew what he wanted to say and what was troubling him.

She just didn't want to make things difficult for him.

Nathan was holding back his frustration.

If his superiors in the Vanderbilt Family still doubted Adeline's identity, he would take good care of Adeline.

He might not compare to the Vanderbilt Family, but he could ensure Adeline had no worries about food and clothing!

However, judging by Alexander's attitude, he had already accepted Adeline.

This way, he didn't have to worry about Adeline being wronged.

Now it all depended on what that couple thought.

Back then, they sponsored a child, and now they even publicly claimed her as their adopted daughter.

Nathan thought long-term. He had seen many power struggles in wealthy families. No matter what Adeline planned for the future, he had to start now and become her support.

Charles naturally noticed Nathan's earlier odd behavior.

He looked at Adeline, who was biting into candy and waiting for the food to arrive.

He knew she was hungry.

Adeline leaned forward and quickly grabbed some food when it arrived.

Charles looked at her face and couldn't help but smile. He then took two hair ties from the bodyguard and naturally gathered her long hair, tying it up and placing it behind her.

Adeline, busy eating, mumbled, "Thanks."

The remaining black hair tie was casually worn on Charles's wrist, intertwined with his red bracelet.
