Chapter 91 Someone's Here to See You
Charles straightened up, a genuine smile lighting up his eyes. "Alright."
Their interaction seemed so natural, like they were old friends catching up.
But Patrick couldn't shake off the weird vibe in the air.
He had never seen Charles act like this with anyone before.
How should he put it?
It was like Charles was turning on the charm full blast.
Charles was rare in this way.
People couldn't help but be drawn to him, even when he was just lounging under a tree, laughing and fiddling with his collar.
Patrick had a wild thought, 'Could Charles be into Adeline?'
He didn't want to dwell on it and just kept his head down.
Summer had already boiled the water and called them over to brew some medicine.
They were staying for dinner, which had Summer all excited. She was already planning what to buy and happily headed out with Vanessa, dragging Robert along this time.
Before long, Summer and Vanessa were back with groceries.
As soon as Vanessa stepped into the yard, she said mysteriously, "Adeline, looks like our place is really gonna get demolished!"
"Vanessa, where'd you hear that from this time?" Adeline chuckled.
Vanessa lowered her voice. "I figured it out myself. Outside Chrysanthemum Alley, there was a luxury car parked next to the market! I asked Robert, and he said it's worth over two million dollars."
Adeline glanced at Robert, who was carrying the grocery basket.
Robert nodded.
Adeline frowned. "A Maybach?"
Robert nodded again.
Adeline had thought the Livingston family would come looking, but she didn't expect it to be so soon.
But whatever, she was just running a clinic. When they showed up, she couldn't exactly turn them away.
Vanessa was curious. "Adeline, do you know them?"
Adeline nonchalantly replied, "I know the car."
Vanessa laughed. "I thought it was another one of your grandma's patients."
Adeline didn't answered.
Just as Vanessa finished talking, there was a commotion outside.
"Whoa, whose car is this?"
"It's a Rolls-Royce?"
"Is it here for the Martinez Family?"
Hearing this, Vanessa quickly turned to look outside.
Sure enough, a car had just parked, its body a sleek black, looking super fancy!
"Adeline, this..." Vanessa was a bit stunned.
"Are they here to cause trouble for Summer?" Vanessa was still worried about the last incident. "I'll help you block them."
Adeline calmly reassured her, "Vanessa, no. They should be patients here to see me."
"Patients?" Vanessa looked confused. "Here to see you?"
Didn't Summer say Adeline didn't know anything about medicine?
And before, Adeline had just given them neck massages or something, but she clearly didn't know what she was doing.
Adeline guessed right; it was indeed a patient.
But this patient was a bit special; Nathan had come on his behalf. He looked at Adeline, his voice trembling with urgency. "Do you have time now?"
Adeline thought for a moment. "I do, but you'll have to wait."
Nathan immediately nodded. "Okay!"
Adeline went inside, grabbed her black bag, and then looked at Robert. "Patient at the clinic don't pay. Don't let him scan the code, and you're cooking dinner tonight."
Robert's cheeks puffed up, but he still obeyed.
Adeline patted his head. "Remember to invite him to stay for dinner; he is special."
Robert nodded.
Adeline still wasn't at ease and left a note for Charles before heading out.
She didn't know who it was or what had happened to make Nathan so anxious.
