Chapter 224 Something's Wrong with Her

'Charles is criticizing my taste again.'

Adeline wouldn't accept that.

Just as she was about to speak, she noticed he was staring at Oliver.

Adeline figured out his thoughts and suddenly laughed. "You think I'm interested in Oliver?"

Charles didn't say anything, just looked at her quietly, his eyes deep and unreadable.

Adeline raised an eyebrow. "You don't like Oliver?"

"The Taylor Family has good manners." Charles didn't answer directly.

Adeline chuckled. "But you don't like him? Oliver is a good guy, very straightforward, and has a strong youthful spirit."

Charles's lips curled up, but the coldness around him only intensified.

Adeline was straightforward. "I just see him as a subordinate."

Charles analyzed the meaning of the word, and the darkness in his eyes dissipated a lot.

His behavior today was indeed a bit out of character.

Probably because of the scene when he first walked in, it almost made him lose control.

It seemed he needed to visit the church earlier than planned.

The bracelet on Charles's wrist seemed to sense his thoughts, and its color darkened.

"By the way." Adeline seemed to remember something, her voice low. "After that day..."

Charles raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Nothing," Adeline said thoughtfully.

It seemed only she had changed.

It didn't seem to affect him at all.

She was sure now, there was something wrong with his blood.

Adeline looked up. "Let's get your blood tested another day."

Charles chuckled deeply. "Alright."

Sometimes, their relationship was as distant as that of a doctor and patient.

This puzzled Matteo to no end.

Adeline had exams in the afternoon, so Charles didn't take up all her time.

He even had someone prepare a business car for her to rest in.

The butler taking care of Adeline was thorough in every way.

He arranged lot of fruit, pastries, and juices.

The business car had a lot of space. This model was also the one most often used by celebrities, offering excellent comfort and privacy. The back seat could be laid down to form a bed.

Adeline rested in the car.

Outside stood two bodyguards and the butler.

There was no need for Oliver to do anything.

Oliver told Aaron about it. "She has a boyfriend taking care of her. She doesn't need me."

"A boyfriend?" Aaron was puzzled.

He took a look, and that one glance made him freeze.

Charles!

Oliver was confused. "Why are you spacing out?"

Weren't they going to check on Adeline? Why wasn't he moving?

"Don't talk nonsense in the future!" Aaron turned back and seriously lectured him. "What boyfriend? That's Adeline's patient, and his identity is a bit special. If you spread such rumors again, I'll break your legs!"

Oliver muttered to himself, 'What rumors? Charles said it himself. He must think Adeline is still young, and dating so early would be bad for her reputation!'

Oliver didn't expose Aaron's thoughts.

Aaron, on the other hand, couldn't calm down.

'Even Charles came to their school to get treated by Adeline. When Adeline graduates, won't there be even more big shots coming?'

The more Aaron thought about it, the more excited he got, urging the grading teachers to hurry up and schedule the exams!

In the business car under the shade of the trees, she heard Charles giving low instructions before Adeline fell asleep.

When she woke up, it was 1:50 PM.

The butler had prepared some water for her to wash her face and a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

"Where is he?" Adeline asked casually while drinking her coffee.
