Chapter 94 No Longer Treating Them
Nathan froze. "Is it serious?"
Adeline pulled her hand back. "You gotta stay positive. Make sure you're sleeping well, eating right. And definitely hit up the hospital for a check-up. You need treatment."
Nathan had come for Holly, but who would have thought he would end up needing medical attention himself?
Adeline stood there, looking both striking and intimidating. She had changed into a black hoodie before heading out, her face giving off a cold, dangerous aura.
Jade spotted her right away and instantly disliked her; she was just too stunning.
As they got closer, the bodyguard said, "This is the doctor we called. Please explain Ms. Holly Vanderbilt's symptoms to her."
"Explain?" Jade scoffed. "And what should I call you?"
She looked Adeline up and down. Despite trying to hide it, the disdain in her eyes was obvious.
She had heard Alexander was held up here because he had run into a so-called skilled witch doctor.
Jade thought, 'Witch doctor? How old is she? Did she even graduate? She is just wearing a plain T-shirt, probably from some street vendor. She looks cheap. Could she be a scammer?'
Adeline caught the meaning in her expression, her gaze icy, but she stayed silent.
Jade was fuming. She had worked for the Vanderbilt Family for years, and everyone treated her with respect. How dare this woman be so ungrateful?
"You..."
Before Jade could blow up, Nathan stepped in front of Adeline, blocking her. "Jade, where's Ms. Holly Vanderbilt? Let's get her inside to treat her first."
"Nathan, do you really think any random woman can treat her?" Jade finally let her true feelings out.
Nathan, usually all smiles, frowned deeply. "Jade, watch your tone. She's the one we invited."
Jade shot back, "Nathan, did you bring her here to fool Mr. Holly Vanderbilt? I owe the Vanderbilt Family a lot. I won't let you deceive them."
Nathan was sweating from anger. "Jade!"
"What?" Jade's face was sharp. "You're the one always talking around Mr. Vanderbilt. Ms. Savannah Vanderbilt has been missing for years, and you kept saying there was news about her. Where is she? Not only did you fail to find her, but you also got Mr. Vanderbilt sick!"
Nathan's head buzzed with anger as Jade's words twisted more and more.
But Jade was an old servant of the Vanderbilt Family, having served them for most of her life. He really had no way to deal with her.
Jade's face was smug as she glanced at Adeline. "Since you're here, just wait. She will see you after she finishes her meal."
Hearing this, Adeline suddenly smiled, her eyes cold and devoid of warmth. She bit into a fruit candy and said playfully, "No need. I won't be treating anyone from the Vanderbilt Family anymore."
At these words, not only Nathan but even the bodyguards felt their legs go weak.
Jade, however, sneered. "Who do you think you are? There are people lining up to treat the Vanderbilt Family. How dare you threaten them?"
