Chapter 360 She Didn't Just Lose a Soul
Late night, hotel suite.
When Adeline and Robert returned, Summer was already asleep.
They didn't disturb her and moved to the living room to talk.
Robert typed on his laptop while gesturing: They asked when they could see you.
"Not for now," Adeline said as she bought a bunch of things online, all to be delivered to her newly purchased courtyard house.
Robert replied with a shaking head emoji.
The atmosphere in the group chat instantly became gloomy.
But reports still needed to be made.
[Tell the Boss, there's a pregnant woman who had a car accident halfway up the mountain. That place is sealed off now, and we're worried something might happen once it's unsealed.]
Robert thought it was unnecessary to bother Adeline since there was no money involved and was about to refuse.
Adeline took his small laptop and typed: [Is it something evil that's making you all so worried?]
[Boss?] The other side was clearly happy: [Yes, the pregnant woman's fate was already fragile in some aspects. She has a special identity, and the child she was carrying was a bit unusual.]
Adeline chuckled lightly: [Be concise, don't make me guess.]
[The pregnant woman is Juniper Fox, an actress from a short drama series who's currently very popular. But no one expected her to be pregnant.]
[Yesterday, there was a car accident halfway up the mountain. The racers were a group of rich young people from Zelphoria. The person who hit her car fell off a cliff and died.]
[Juniper lost the baby in the accident. She is still in a coma. Someone called an ambulance, and she survived, but the company doesn't want the pregnancy news to get out.]
Adeline got straight to the point: [Does the baby's father have a family?]
[You're smart, Boss. It's hard to say about her; we don't know if it was consensual.]
Adeline sent: [Is the baby fully formed?]
[Yes, that's the most troublesome part. Someone has to pray on that road, or none of the racers will survive.]
Adeline took a sip of tea: [Forgot the rules?]
[Don't help the wicked!] The other side typed quickly: [We're not helping them; we're helping the baby.]
Adeline replied: [Give me the address.]
They quickly sent a location: [Boss, are you going to pray yourself?]
Adeline glanced at it, her tone unhurried: [I should know that group of rich people. Going there now would be too conspicuous; someone will definitely be watching. Let them suffer for a couple of days first.]
[I understand Boss's strategy, let them come to us.]
Adeline chuckled: [The baby needs to vent and get some revenge.]
[Indeed, revenge is needed!]
Robert gestured: I'll go bite them to death!
Adeline pinched his cheek. "You should think about how to tidy up our courtyard house tomorrow. You owed some live streaming hours.
Robert wasn't afraid; he was strong and loved tidying up the house. He followed Adeline like a little tail, gesturing: Will the woman we met today come?
Adeline stretched. "I don't know, it depends on her choice."
Robert lowered his eyes, then looked up: She has Mom's scent.
Adeline suddenly paused. She hadn't noticed it earlier outside.
Once it was quiet, she finally understood why Mia felt off.
The child should be the most important thing to her, yet she only thought of finding the child when she was having an episode.
"She hasn't just lost a soul," Adeline looked at Robert. "We need to see her again."
