Chapter 226 Fifty Thousand Dollars

Adeline, who had just finished her exam, was unaware that she had become a topic of conversation.

As soon as Adeline stepped out of the exam hall, Jason had already prepared the acquisition plan and was sitting in the business car, ready to show it to their boss.

"The price can be a bit lower," Adeline said, drawing a circle with her pen. "Keep the business manager Jimena Rios from the Martinez Group, fire the rest."

Jason nodded. "I'll arrange it right away."

"No rush," Adeline said, sitting in the car, propping her chin with one hand and playing with the purple gemstone pendant. "Wait until Henry is desperate, then go."

Soon enough, as if in response to her words, the Martinez Group fell into a full-blown crisis.

No matter it was the partners or the four major banks, none of them were willing to lend to the Martinez Group anymore.

Instead, loan sharks came knocking, making Henry so angry that his heart ached.

"What are you worth now? Still pretending to be a CEO? Even the beggars on the street wouldn't give you a glance."

"Get out!" Henry smashed an ashtray.

At this critical moment, the servants kept demanding their wages.

The finance department sneered. "Wages? No one is paying my salary, let alone yours!"

After Summer was sidelined, the Martinez Group had already lost its talent.

Only Jimena was still holding on. She rushed into Henry's office. "Give the management rights of the Martinez Group back to Summer. It's the best way to calm the public opinion right now."

Henry was furious at her words. "Impossible! The Martinez Group is mine! She didn't relinquish control when she was young, and now that she's almost dead, she still wants to hold onto it? Dream on!"

Jimena took a deep breath. "If you don't give it back to Summer, are you going to watch the Martinez Group go bankrupt? What about the employees who have been here for over a decade?"

"Let them be!" Henry said sinisterly. "Jimena, I know you've never accepted me. You were Summer's most valued successor. She kept you in the company with ill intentions!"

Jimena clutched her work badge and tore it off fiercely. "Compared to Summer, you're worlds apart. If it weren't for the Martinez Group, I would have left long ago! I quit! I'm done serving you!"

All these years, how many drinks had she had to down to close deals?

All ruined by Henry!

With Jimena's departure, the Martinez Group no longer had anyone to lead the charge.

Henry thought of contacting Stella to get back the $200,000.

But Stella's phone was unreachable.

Henry told himself she must be in class and hadn't seen her phone.

Just when Henry was at his wit's end, the Aetheris Group suddenly contacted him. "Mr. Bailey can spare a few minutes to hear you out."

"Thank you so much! I'll come over right away!" Henry said, about to get up.

Jason's voice came through. "No need, just talk over the phone. I have other projects to discuss."

Henry felt the pressure and stammered.

He didn't know that it was actually Adeline on the other end, with Jason merely conveying her words.

"The Martinez Group has over a hundred million dollars in external debt. We can't invest to save it."

Hearing this, Henry's heart sank.

"But." Jason's tone was indifferent. "We can discuss an acquisition."

Henry's eyes lit up. "That's fine too! I'm willing to sell!"

In the car, Adeline propped her face with one hand, her eyes growing colder.

Sure enough, since it wasn't a business he built, he didn't care at all.

Adeline raised her hand slightly.

Jason immediately said, "The acquisition price is $50,000."
