Chapter 147 A Bit Jealous
Angela had a ton of tricks up her sleeve to mess with someone online!
Charles gave Patrick a glance before looking away.
As a top-notch bodyguard, Patrick got the hint and was about to follow Angela.
But Adeline stepped in front of him, blocking his path with a slow smile. "Grandma said, let them go."
Patrick hesitated and looked up.
"Listen to her," Charles said calmly.
Matteo, on the other hand, was totally floored. Since when did Charles take orders from anyone?
Adeline popped a fruit candy into her mouth. "We need to give people a chance to change. I'm pretty generous like that."
Charles raised an eyebrow, twirling the bracelet on his wrist, clearly not buying it.
Adeline was definitely lying. She didn't want Patrick to follow because she didn't want her plan messed up.
For Angela, losing everything would hurt more than losing her life.
"You're doubting me." Adeline changed the subject, casually tossing a bag of medicated candies to Charles with a cool, graceful motion. "Thanks for earlier. Nice bracelet, by the way."
Charles smiled, looking at the candy in his hand, unwrapping one and popping it into his mouth.
Matteo was already stunned. He had never seen Charles talk to anyone like this.
Adeline turned slightly, looking at Matteo who was still sizing her up, her eyes half-lidded. "What's your problem?"
Saying he was taking Matteo to see a doctor was just an excuse Charles had made up.
Charles had flown back a day early on a private jet from Albion, and Matteo was still confused.
But now he roughly got what Charles was up to. Matteo lifted his head. "My back hurts."
"Your back?" Adeline glanced at his round belly. "Then come in."
Summer was clearly in a bad mood.
Adeline walked over. "Grandma, there's someone here for a consultation."
Summer looked at her, and suddenly her eyes reddened, reaching out to touch her face. "You've been under too much pressure because of me."
She didn't know that Angela and Henry couldn't even tolerate a child before today!
"Grandma, it's all in the past." Adeline had indeed lost control today. Her temper hadn't flared up in a long time, probably because it had been raining so much in Eldoria lately, making her irritable. "I won't do it again."
Summer felt sorry for her. "I'm not blaming you. They deserved it, but you..."
The unfinished part was: you need to take your medication again?
Others might not notice anything, but someone as sharp as Charles quickly sensed something unusual, his eyes flickering, making others hard to read.
The neighbors, who were straightforward, also chimed in, "Adeline, is there really a big boss coming?"
They didn't doubt Adeline's character. They had seen her grow up, and she was a good kid, just not very good at studying.
But nobody was perfect!
"Yep." Adeline didn't hide it. "Mr. Bailey, the one on TV. He came to Eldoria to do some medical work, saw my live stream, and thought the Lumina Vitae Foundation was cool, so he wants to invest."
Everyone gasped in surprise!
"Mr. Bailey! I've seen him. Several media outlets have interviewed him."
"He said he's from Zelphoria! He's loaded!"
"Grandma, don't forget to have him come to my place for barbecue!"
"Didn't Adeline bring someone to your place today?"
They were chatting happily.
Suddenly, a slightly deep voice came from beside Adeline's ear. "You agreed?"
