Chapter 367 Unusual Sleep
Adeline didn't know that ever since returning to the hotel, Mia had been sleeping.
Her phone had been taken away and put on silent.
Kai wasn't rude enough to look at Mia's phone.
But he was very disdainful of a certain "liar."
The messages kept coming, so Kai simply threw the phone on the table.
He looked at Mia's peacefully sleeping face and sighed softly, "You're just too soft-hearted."
Kai was also worried that the medication might have been too much, so he called the family doctor.
The family doctor shook his head, "Mr. Vanderbilt, it's normal for Mrs. Vanderbilt to be like this. She barely slept during her episode, and her physical exhaustion is quite severe."
Kai finally breathed a sigh of relief, "As long as she's okay."
The family doctor was envious, "You treat Mrs. Vanderbilt so well. I'll prescribe some nutritional IV fluids for her."
Kai nodded.
Tomorrow, he would have someone bring Stella over. He didn't want anything to happen to Mia at this time.
The company was too busy, and recently, Alexander's behavior had indeed been a bit unusual.
Kai had his own thoughts as well. He went straight to the chairman's office after entering the building, "Dad, why are you keeping Savannah from us? What's the point?"
"When the time is right, you'll see her," Alexander said calmly. "Since Savannah is coming home, we can't be careless. Her brothers need to be present, and we also need to notify the in-laws."
Kai paused, "Notify them?"
"Of course," Alexander scoffed. "Are you afraid they'll beat you up?"
Kai let out a long breath, "Dad, why do you always look down on me and use such oppressive methods? Aren't you angry that they don't respect me?"
"If I had a son-in-law like you, I wouldn't be happy either," Alexander said, tapping his cane on the floor. "Mia is top-notch. Don't be an eyesore in front of us. When you figure things out and stop talking about adoption, then come see me."
Kai felt dejected. He felt like no one in the family understood him.
The kids didn't reply to his messages.
On the contrary, his uncle, Indigo Vanderbilt, often advised him not to be so angry.
Kai couldn't help but be angry, "Do you really think we should just kick Holly out? She's still a college student who hasn't graduated yet. What will she do in the future?"
"Your dad is probably afraid that Savannah will be hurt when she comes back," Indigo, who shared a grandfather with Alexander, said.
Kai smiled bitterly, "Savannah has been away for so many years. Holly brought temporary peace to the family. Savannah will understand. If she's really hurt, we'll explain."
"That's true, but your dad won't listen," Indigo said, sipping his tea. "Take it slow. Let's see Savannah first."
Kai looked up at Holly, who was admiring antiques in the living room, "Holly is so good. I don't know what my dad is dissatisfied with."
"She carefully selected a set of items, but my dad didn't accept any of them. It's a pity that Holly's filial piety goes unnoticed." Kai didn't even realize the inconsistency in his logic as he said this.
Indigo stroked his white beard, "Life is long; there's no need to rush."
Holly could vaguely hear the conversation from the other side.
Alexander was calling all the members back for Savannah.
She had never received such treatment in the Vanderbilt Family all these years.
Blood was indeed thicker than water.
