Chapter 25 Self-Destruction

Adeline's eyes stayed glued to Charles's face, clear and direct.

Adeline, who was super picky about looks, had a stash of pics of hot guys, but none of them held a candle to Charles in front of her.

The hospital's chaos didn't seem to faze him at all.

She spotted Nathan running up to Charles, yapping away. Even though she couldn't hear them through the glass, she raised an eyebrow.

Then, Charles glanced her way again. Even in the dim light, his features were kinda blurry, but it still gave her a weird feeling.

"Is she the miracle doc?" Charles asked, sounding all cool and indifferent.

Nathan, all eager and brown-nosing, replied, "Yep! We found her in the square. She's young, but her medical skills are off the charts!"

Just as Charles was about to ask something, Adeline cut him off. She quickly walked out and told Xavier, "Keep an eye on the patient. No antibiotics. Do more nebulization. I'll write a prescription and come back for acupuncture tomorrow."

Xavier, even though he was a hotshot in the Taylor Family, felt pretty basic right then.

He'd never admired anyone this much, not even when he snagged awards abroad. His eyes sparkled as he looked at Adeline. "Miracle doc, I got what you said. Can I learn about the acupuncture you just did?"

Other docs crowded around, all curious but trying to play it cool.

They didn't expect Adeline to teach them since this was some rare medical mojo.

But Adeline just nodded slightly, her voice clear. "Yeah, take notes. I won't repeat myself. You gotta get it on your own."

She was chill as she started teaching acupuncture. She first gave a quick rundown of the shamanistic principles, then talked about some real-life cases.

The docs soaked it all up, like sponges, but were also kinda puzzled. She was just a young girl; how did she have such an "old witch doctor" vibe?

They couldn't help but wonder, could time travel be real? Was there an old, wise doc living inside her?

Charles stood outside the crowd, watching calmly, with a rare spark of interest in his eyes.

Aaron, sweating bullets, nervously wiped his forehead and walked over, trembling, wanting to explain.

Charles signaled for silence. "Don't interrupt my lesson."

Aaron shut up. 'You're actually listening to a medical lesson!'

Meanwhile, Adeline paused. "I need a test subject." Charles, who had been standing next to Aaron, now walked towards her.

'What is Charles doing?' Aaron's eyes nearly popped out of his head. 'No way. Is Charles really gonna volunteer as a test subject? No, that can't be! Given his status, he wouldn't do that. He must just be stretching his legs.'

Before Aaron could react, he saw Adeline's gaze land on Charles. 'She wouldn't pick Charles, would she? How dare she! Would she really risk her future like that?'
