Chapter 51 Not Seeking Treatment

Sara stretched her neck. "You know, the medical field rakes in the big bucks real quick. We got a ton of folks in the Cooper family; we can't just cut off our cash flow."

"We're not cutting it off," Paul said, taking his time. "Just gotta lay low for a bit until things cool down."

Sara got the hint right away. "Dad, are those Zelphoria people coming back?"

Paul didn't answer her; he just closed his eyes.

Sara reassured him. "Don't sweat it. I promise they won't find a thing."

For over a decade, the Cooper family had been smooth sailing, and this time wouldn't be any different!

That night dragged on, all quiet.

In Zelphoria, a bunch of office computers at the Defense Building started flickering, grabbing the highest authority's attention!

In Eldoria, Adeline was munching on some fruit candy, tapping her fingers lightly!

Soon, the same email popped up in their inboxes.

The hacker came and went like a ghost.

When they opened the email, their faces went pale!

The top dog gave the order. "Dig into this Cooper family! Keep it hush-hush! Talk to everyone involved, and hand over your phones first. Not a peep about this!"

This night was gonna be anything but normal.

Adeline, though, hit the sack early, all smiles after slapping on a face mask.

The next day, Adeline still headed to the hospital to give Alexander his acupuncture.

This time, her other patient was a no-show.

Alexander was chatty. "What do girls your age usually dig?"

Adeline thought about her friends. "Clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry, stuff like that."

Alexander turned to Nathan. "Nathan, take note. When Savannah's back, she should have all of these."

Nathan rubbed his temples. "Mr. Vanderbilt, we got a lead in Ravenwood Town. Found the couple who adopted Savannah and set up a meeting for next week!"

"Ravenwood Town?" Adeline raised an eyebrow.

Nathan turned around. "What? You know it?"

Adeline packed up her medical kit. "Heard of it."

She's been swamped lately, but once things chill out, she'd make a trip to Ravenwood Town.

She needed to know what her real parents were like.

Alexander seemed a bit bummed and didn't say anything more.

Adeline didn't stick around either. Just as she stepped out of the hospital room, Nathan called out to her! "Hold up!"

Adeline stopped.

Nathan walked over. "Xavier mentioned you're also going to the Livingston family's medical seminar?"

Adeline slung a black bag over one shoulder. "Got something to tell me?"

Nathan coughed and blinked fast. "Not really; just checking if you're really going?"

Nathan said inwardly, 'No need actually; you're already treating Charles.'

Adeline didn't catch his drift and just smiled lightly. "I gotta go."

Nathan was sharp. "Doesn't seem like you're going there to treat someone."

Adeline didn't hide it. "The Livingston family isn't my target. Alright, Nathan. I gotta bounce. Need to prep."

"What are you going for if you're not treating Mr. Livingston?" Nathan tiptoed but couldn't call her back, muttering softly, "It's good you're going. This way, I won't worry about you ticking off Mr. Livingston. You'll know who he is then."

Adeline didn't hear him. As she walked, she sent out the last email.

Despite all their tech, Zelphoria still couldn't track down the informant.

Two days later rolled around.

The Livingston family banquet was set at Caesar Hotel, on September 19th.
