Chapter 95 Familiar Scent

Adeline stood up straight. She grabbed her black bag, her long legs giving off a vibe that was both cool and elegant.

"Nathan, let's go. No need to treat anyone here."

Nathan was so mad he thought he might have a heart attack. He tried to explain, "Look, it's fine if you don't treat her. But the Vanderbilt Family..."

"Nathan." A gentle yet noble voice suddenly called out from a distance.

Jade's attitude flipped instantly, showing utmost respect. "Why are you here?"

Holly walked over, holding her skirt. Her long hair was pinned to one side with a diamond clip, her face pale. "What do you mean?."

Jade shot a glare at Nathan, who really talked too much!

Nathan didn't back down, handling it like a pro. "I was explaining to Adeline. The Vanderbilt Family has always been humble in public, and Adeline is a special guest of Mr. Vanderbilt. Who's gonna treat Mr. Vanderbilt if Jade ticks her off?"

He had searched all over Eldoria to find a gem like Adeline.

If Jade, this ungrateful person, drove her away, what would happen to Alexander's health?

Jade opened her mouth, wanting to speak.

Holly furrowed her brows. "Jade!"

Holly approached Adeline, her eyes innocent and dreamy. "I don't know what Jade said to upset you. I apologize on her behalf."

Adeline's expression was indifferent. "Okay."

"Okay? Just 'okay'?" Jade couldn't stand it anymore. "Nathan, does the person you brought have manners?"

Holly tugged at her sleeve. "Jade, don't shout. This is a public place."

As she spoke, she looked at Adeline and took out a stack of money from her bag. "Jade has been with the Vanderbilt Family for many years and values etiquette, which is why she disapproves of your behavior. This money is a token of our sincerity."

It sounded like an apology, but it was actually implying that Adeline lacked manners.

Adeline looked at the stack of money, her smile growing wider. "The Vanderbilt Family really does handle things humbly."

Holly blinked and bit her thin lip. "Do you think it's not enough?"

She was guessing.

"I also have a card here." Holly moved closer to Adeline, her tone casual.

The perfume scent made Adeline's head hurt. She couldn't help but sneeze, taking a few steps back, her voice faint. "No need."

Jade pouted. "Some people don't even know how to be grateful."

Holly's brows furrowed as well. "You got me wrong, and you won't even accept the money?"

Adeline raised an eyebrow. "Wrong? Your money belongs to the Vanderbilt Family's, right? Using someone else's money, how generous."

She wouldn't indulge people who kept crossing her line.

Holly seemed stunned, but in an instant, she returned to her previous demeanor. "Nathan."

Her eyes were slightly red, as if she had been wronged.

Nathan didn't get it. "Ms. Holly Vanderbilt, if you're not sick, why did you make me come all this way?"

Adeline spoke decisively, "Nathan, you handle it. Don't call me for such things next time."

With that, she didn't linger any longer and walked away.

Holly's scent was very unpleasant, somewhat strange.

Besides the perfume, there should be something else.

But what that thing was, Adeline couldn't remember. It felt very familiar, as if she had smelled it somewhere before.
