Chapter 62 The Strange Patient
"Alright, folks, let's get this show on the road!" Tessa threw up her hand, and secret doors in the manor started to creak open.
Consultation rooms popped up in front of everyone.
The docs had to see their patients based on their assigned groups.
Sara was the first to jump in; she was itching to flaunt the Cooper family's skills! Especially in front of Adeline!
It was obvious the patients the Livingston family brought were tough nuts to crack.
Everyone took forever inside. And when they finally came out, they all looked pretty serious.
Except for the Cooper family, the Mitchell family came out grinning.
Even David found it tricky, but he managed to whip up a treatment plan.
A bunch of folks couldn't even figure out the symptoms and came out whispering to each other, like students comparing answers after a test.
"What the heck is wrong with the third patient?"
"I have no clue. When I asked, he just said he had a headache. No tumor in the scans either."
Oscar, hearing all the chatter, felt a bit uneasy. "Maybe we should bail. You have no idea, Oliver and I are really not that great at this."
"Follow me," Adeline said, standing up with her bag, her eyes clear and beautiful.
Their turn for the consultation came. Based on the previous rankings, they were the last group.
After all, none of them had any consultation records, and they were all still students who hadn't graduated.
Oscar clung to the door frame, refusing to go in. "I really can't do this. Maybe you should find someone else, I..."
Adeline lifted her long leg and kicked him inside!
The Carter family stayed quiet as they got in.
No one took them seriously.
Knowing herbs didn't mean she could diagnose patients. Adeline would inevitably be exposed when it came to clinical practice.
Summer had killed someone by using the wrong medication.
Moreover, they knew Oliver and Oscar's medical skills. They could handle minor illnesses, but with these three patients today, they probably wouldn't even know where to start.
Oscar thought the same, so as soon as he entered the consultation room, he slumped down. "Treating illnesses is no small matter. Let me look through the medical books first, and then we can..."
Adeline had already given the diagnosis. While recording it, she looked up and asked the patient, "Are you afraid of needles?"
The patient shook his head.
Adeline pressed his fingertip with one hand and performed acupuncture with the other, drawing blood.
Before Oscar could react, Adeline had already finished and removed the needle. "Next."
They were surprised by the fact that the patient was genuinely cured and he was thanking Adeline with a rosy complexion.
Oscar turned to look at Oliver. "Oliver, Adeline is a genius!"
Oliver was also a bit dazed. "Summer clearly told me she had no talent and was just average."
"It only took her three minutes to treat two people!" Oscar held up two fingers.
Adeline was already examining the third patient.
Behind the curtain, the patient kept coughing, but his breathing was steady, and there was no abnormal resonance.
Adeline raised an eyebrow, then closed her eyes, her eyelashes distinct.
She seemed to be in deep thought.
"You said you have a headache?" Adeline opened her eyes and looked towards the curtain.
The patient coughed heavily twice, his voice raspy and unhurried. "Yes, I don't know what's going on. Since last month, my head has been hurting from time to time. I went to see a doctor, but they couldn't figure it out either."
Adeline smiled, didn't ask any more questions, and simply wrote a brief note on the consultation form.
