Chapter 170 Sarcastic Comments
The call came from a school teacher, and she sounded pissed, definitely not in a good mood.
"Adeline, get to the school right now!" Her voice was loud, like she was super angry. "Your parents said they're done with you. Whether you're good or bad, it's not their problem anymore. Is that true?"
Adeline replied casually, "Yeah."
"Yeah? Why didn't you tell me?" Whitney Garcia sneered. "The only reason you got into our school is because of your dad. Your basic medical knowledge wouldn't have been enough for us to accept you otherwise."
Adeline chuckled.
"What? Did I say something wrong? Don't forget your embarrassing grades!" Whitney snapped impatiently. "And don't you dare get stubborn with me.. Your grandma's already here. I'll talk to her first, and then we'll figure out what to do with you based on your family's attitude!"
With that, she slammed the phone down.
Adeline's eyes narrowed, and the room suddenly felt like it dropped a few degrees.
What she hated most was someone using Summer to threaten her.
Adeline crushed the teacup in her hand and then gently blew on her palm.
In that moment, she seemed truly herself.
Her face was stunningly beautiful, but her personality was a mystery.
Many families had once gone to great lengths to seek her help.
Now, she had to rely on others' attitudes just to attend school.
It was a far cry from the past.
Adeline stood up, grabbed her bag, and headed out, her eyes cold.
At Innovative Health Middle School, many boarding students were heading to the cafeteria for lunch. When they saw Adeline, they started whispering.
"I heard Whitney called her parents."
"With grades like that, she didn't leave Whitney much choice."
"Keep your voices down. You don't want to offend the Martinez Family."
"Don't you know? She's already been kicked out of the Martinez Family."
"But I heard she's doing live streams and is quite popular."
"If she's so popular, why hasn't she mentioned it? It must be fake."
Whitney was saying the same thing.
"Uneducated people like you just don't know how to discipline your kids, letting her mess around online. If she were really popular, how come I don't know about it? And what makes you think she's qualified to treat patients online? Summer, this is a big deal—what's your plan here?"
Summer was trying hard to keep up with Whitney, bending over and being submissive. "You're right; I take the blame for not raising Adeline properly. But don't you think we should investigate this further? Our Adeline has always been a good kid since she was little, she wouldn't..."
"Wouldn't what?" Whitney interrupted her angrily, with disdain in her voice. "Are you trying to say she wouldn't cheat? Then explain to me how she managed to get perfect scores in every subject? With the limited medical skills she learned from you?"
Summer frowned and argued reasonably, "You can't just assume Adeline cheated without any solid evidence."
"Summer, you're not here to apologize; you're here to teach me how to do my job." Whitney sat back at her computer desk and waved her hand sarcastically. "Then please leave. I have a lot of school matters to deal with. As for how the school's gonna deal with Adeline, just wait for the notification."
Adeline had just walked in the door when she heard this.
