Chapter 341 Adeline Amazes Everyone, She's an Expert!
After five o'clock, the crowd at Antique Alley gradually increased.
As the streetlights came on, the vendors were busy arranging their items.
Nowadays, with the internet being so advanced, there were even live streams.
Although there were many people on-site, it wasn't noisy; everyone was whispering.
Adeline wanted to buy special stones, which could be both easy and difficult.
The difficulty lay in the fact that these items didn't have much profit unless they were carved into bonsai.
But Adeline wanted raw stones, and it was hard to find any. The two shops that had them were asking for outrageous prices.
Lyle, holding a paper fan, said, "John, this isn't fair. A thousand dollars for three stones?"
John Williams, slick-tongued, replied, "Mr. Warner, you know business is getting tougher. How about you buy an item, and I'll throw in the stones for free? How about this incense gemstone pot? It's been around for years."
Lyle was indeed interested in the small pot. "Don't try to fool me."
"How could I dare fool you?" John flattered. "With your knowledge, once you auction this pot, it'll be a hit!"
Lyle took the gemstone pot and examined it.
Meanwhile, Adeline grabbed a dozen coins from John's jar and played with them in her hand. "How much for the pot?"
"Oh, miss, that's not how you ask for a price," John smiled and immediately took out a calculator. "This is your first time here, right?"
Adeline nonchalantly replied, "Yes, first time."
"Mr. Warner is one of my regulars," John gestured the number eight with his hand.
Adeline raised an eyebrow. "Eight hundred dollars is a bit expensive."
"Eight hundred dollars?!" John got a bit angry. "Are you kidding me? With the quality of this gemstone pot, eight hundred dollars? Mr. Warner, if you don't want to buy it, don't mock me!"
Lyle quickly said, "My niece is still young and doesn't understand this business. Look at you, getting all worked up."
John, wanting to make a sale, said, "Alright." He gestured the number six. "I'll throw in the special stones too."
"Do the coins come with it?" Adeline asked casually.
John thought this young person was innocent, wanting the least valuable items. "Sure, you can pick. But miss, next time you come to Antique Alley, don't be like this."
"Okay," Adeline responded with a faint smile.
Lyle saw that the gemstone pot was indeed good. He could easily make a small profit of ten thousand dollars by reselling it, so he paid for it.
Just as their transaction was completed, John watched in astonishment as Adeline turned on a flashlight and shone it on the gifted coins.
Wait a minute!
Someone who knew nothing about this business knew to use a flashlight to examine items?
Wasn't this something only experts in their circle would know?
John was stunned and turned to look at Lyle.
Lyle was also puzzled. "That flashlight?"
"Oh, it's for examining items," Adeline said naturally, showing him the coins. "Sometimes you can't see much under natural light. Robert, give me the blade and oil."
Robert quickly unzipped the black bag and handed over the professional equipment.
Adeline pressed the blade against the rusty back of the coin, and the rust immediately peeled off, revealing the true nature of the coin. It was a lustrous, golden, and rare item!
John's eyes widened, and he exclaimed in surprise, "Celestium Coin! This is actually a Celestium Coin!"
