Chapter 347 Adeline's Dreams All Came True

"It's just gossip," Adeline laughed. "Doesn't seem like good rumors."

Lyle said, "That's just how it is in high society."

"What do you mean?" Adeline smirked.

Seeing that she didn't really mind, Lyle decided to give her a heads-up. "The version I heard says you were found in a village, that you wouldn't amount to much, and that you're not good enough for Mr. Livingston. They say he rejected you long ago, but you clung on, so the engagement wasn't called off."

"Pretty much what I expected," Adeline said, her eyes gleaming with amusement under the light.

The scenes from her dreams were coming true one by one.

Adeline remembered clearly that the first step to her downfall in her dreams was these rumors.

"Pretty much what you expected?" Lyle was stunned. "Why would you think about that?"

It was so easy to get depressed thinking about it!

Adeline nonchalantly replied, "Just arrived, of course, I need to imagine my reputation."

The Livingston family's driver couldn't stand it anymore. "Don't worry, I'll report these rumors to Mr. Livingston. He'll handle it! No one can slander you like that!"

They knew exactly how Charles felt about Adeline!

Charles had finally fallen for someone, and they weren't even married yet, and people were already spreading nonsense!

"No need for that," Adeline laughed. "This has nothing to do with him."

High society had this kind of atmosphere. Even if she wasn't engaged to Charles but to Ronan, the rumors would still be the same. It was just that Charles was more noticeable.

The driver wasn't joking. "Mr. Livingston would blame himself. He always instructed us to protect you."

Lyle was dumbfounded. "The world is really strange. Mr. Livingston wants to protect someone?"

He was muttering to himself when a new message popped up on his phone.

Charles: [Let's have dinner sometime.]

Lyle swallowed hard. Even though he worked for Alexander, he was nowhere near the level to interact with such a top figure in Zelphoria's high society.

Lyle quickly replied: [Mr. Livingston, you're too kind.]

The response was quick: [It's necessary. My fiancée had a great time, thanks to you.]

So it was for Adeline!

Lyle looked up again, his eyes filled with shock as he looked at Adeline.

Adeline, not knowing what was going on, waved at him through the car window.

Lyle opened his mouth, about to ask something else, when another message came through.

Charles: [I have a question for you. What happened with the March Family today?]

Lyle immediately started typing.

Charles was faster: [Mr. Warner, is it convenient to take a call?]

Lyle: [Yes, it is!]

As soon as he replied, Charles called, his voice polite and with a slight chuckle. "Mr. Warner, sorry to bother you. It's just that my fiancée is young and from out of town, with no connections or friends in Zelphoria. She's too easily bullied. I want to understand what happened."

"No, no bother at all!" Lyle stood up straight.

Charles's voice was cold, with a slight cough. "I don't know how much you know about me, but I'm quite vengeful."

Lyle thought to himself, 'You're not just vengeful, you make sure anyone who crosses you can't even run their company.'

"The March Family was very disrespectful to Ms. Vanderbilt!" Lyle immediately pledged his loyalty without hesitation. "Mr. Ronan March is okay, but Mr. Tobias March needs to be dealt with!"
