Chapter 36 Promoting Sweating
During Adeline's treatment of Alexander, she only used three needles, and each of them worked wonders.
Alexander felt like a million bucks! It was like someone hit the refresh button on his insides, making him feel way younger.
Alexander was blown away by Adeline's skills. "She's a total medical prodigy. So young and already this good. The future of witch doctor is in good hands."
"All thanks to my Grandma's teachings," Adeline said softly, making a small move behind him that made a slight noise.
Alexander spun around, surprised.
Adeline nodded, "I noticed a little bump in your thoracic vertebrae while treating you. Try moving around a bit."
"It's not stiff anymore," Alexander said, amazed that Adeline had fixed his long-standing issue. This problem had bugged him forever, but other doctors were too cautious, always going for safe treatments that never really worked, dragging out his recovery until now.
Alexander had almost given up hope, never thinking he'd feel this good again. It was like he had just shaved ten years off his age.
He couldn't help but stretch and move around, but to his surprise, he was drenched in sweat after just a few moves.
"Why am I sweating so much?" he asked.
"The sweat needs to come out for the treatment to work." Adeline answered.
Xavier then realized that Alexander's sweating was all part of Adeline's plan.
Hearing Adeline's explanation, Charles walked over, curious. "Can this treatment really make you sweat?"
Adeline turned to see his curious face, which was rare for him.
"The needle I just put in his shoulder promotes sweating," Adeline said as she removed the needle and packed up her medical kit. "Mr. Livingston, today's session is done. One more tomorrow, and you're good to go."
Alexander looked at her gratefully, and with a glance, Quentin Lewis pulled out a credit card. "Here's a million bucks; please take it."
Adeline smiled and shook her head, "That's too much. Ten grand a day is enough."
Alexander, however, wasn't having it. After waking up, he learned from Nathan about Adeline's background—how she came from a poor family and still gave free medical help to those in need.
Alexander couldn't help but want to do more good, hoping that Savannah might meet a kind person in the future. He put on a stern face. "It's not too much at all! Is my life not worth a million dollars?"
"It is." Adeline didn't argue further. Going back and forth wasn't her style. If the guy wanted to give, she'd take it.
The "miracle doctor" took on cases based on the price offered. After accepting the card, she chuckled. "I need to think about how to spend this million bucks."
She couldn't let others think she had struck it rich, as it would mess up her future plans. Of course, those "others" were the soon-to-fall "Cooper family" and "Jones family."
At the Cooper Mansion, Sara, still in shock, lay in bed.
Outside in the living room, and even outside the villa, the place was packed with students visiting her. They were all Sara's students, taking the chance to show their concern.
Among them, James and Ulysses Young stood out the most.
Their friend Stella wasn't with them but had been called upstairs with Angela.
Stella, with red eyes, sat by Sara's bedside, looking genuinely upset, which made Sara feel a bit better.
Stella said, "Ms. Cooper, what happened to you? Who messed with you? Tell me, and I'll get justice for you!"
Sara shouted, "It's all because of you!"
