Chapter 311 Biological Parents Return to the Country
"Is there some misunderstanding that my dear daughter must resolve herself?"
It was Kai, impeccably dressed in a suit, followed by his accompanying doctor and secretary, all dragging suitcases, clearly just off a plane.
Seeing Kai, Holly immediately smiled, her voice filled with surprise and delight. "Dad, you're back! Where's Mom?"
"Long flights are exhausting, and you know your mother's health. She didn't want to return to the villa; she can only sleep well in a hotel," Kai said, placing his handbag on the sofa. "Did Grandpa make things difficult for you again?"
Holly shook her head. "No."
Jade couldn't hold back. "Mr. Vanderbilt, you have no idea how outrageous Terry was. Ms. Vanderbilt worked so hard to make the soup, and he suspects that she tampered with the soup, not even letting Ms. Vanderbilt into the Vanderbilt villa."
"Jade!" Holly reprimanded her!
Jade muttered, "Ms. Vanderbilt always shoulders everything herself and doesn't tell you. I can't stand seeing her so wronged."
Kai hadn't expected Alexander to be so serious this time, even sending Terry over just for a doctor.
"Jade, if Terry didn't let Holly deliver the soup, he must have his reasons." Kai glanced at Jade. "Feeling wronged for Holly isn't the right way to go about it."
Hearing this, Holly tightened her grip on Jade's hand.
Jade quickly responded, "Look at me, talking too much. I'll go make you some tea."
Kai turned his gaze to Holly's face. "Holly, do you think the same? That Terry is making things difficult for you?"
"Of course not," Holly said earnestly. "If Terry didn't let me deliver the soup, it must be for Grandpa's health. But I did ask the family doctor, and Grandpa does need nutritional supplements."
Kai sighed deeply. "Dad can be stubborn and unyielding at times, but we have a chef at home. If he needs anything, the chef can make it. You don't need to deliver the soup."
"Okay." The more Holly listened, the tighter she clenched her hands, leaving marks on her palms from her freshly done nails.
Kai couldn't notice these details and just smiled. "We came back early this time to officially adopt you at your birthday party."
"Really?" Holly's eyes lit up, looking very innocent. "But will Grandpa agree?"
Kai glanced at his watch. "I'll go talk to your Grandpa. You come with me, and be polite and apologize to him."
"Okay!" Holly's voice was very sweet.
Terry didn't expect Holly to come again.
Not only that, but even Kai, who had been living abroad, was here.
Kai looked at Terry and smiled lightly. "Mr. Alexander Vanderbilt should still be awake. At this time, he's usually playing chess."
Terry didn't mention that Alexander was watching Adeline's old live videos, just smiled vaguely. "You know Mr. Alexander Vanderbilt well."
"Can I go in and see him?" Kai raised an eyebrow.
Terry stepped aside, speaking carefully, "Sure, Mr. Kai Vanderbilt. It's your own home; you can go in anytime."
The implication was clear.
The reason he had stopped Holly earlier was because she wasn't part of the Vanderbilt Family.
This made Holly's face turn grim, her eyes fixed on Terry.
Terry didn't care how she felt. He had already been threatened with dismissal; why shouldn't he retaliate?
Kai was also a bit displeased. "Terry, Holly will be part of the Vanderbilt Family in the future. You should watch your attitude."
"Yes," Terry said politely. "When Ms. Vanderbilt becomes part of the Vanderbilt Family, I'll watch my attitude."
Kai squinted his eyes.
He thought, 'Forget it. There is no need to argue with Terry. Getting Alexander to agree to adopt Holly is the key.'
