Chapter 196 Transfer Contract

Summer's heart was racing.

After all, three hours had already passed.

She had no idea what was happening at the police station.

She had asked around, but everyone said it was a tough situation.

Angela was indeed clever, knowing exactly when to strike.

She deliberately chose to come when Robert wasn't around, as she found Robert to be a hindrance.

Angela wasn't in a hurry. She just held her phone and swiped a couple of times in front of Summer. "Mom, look , so many people online are cursing you. This thing with Adeline isn't going to end so easily. Think about it carefully; she assaulted a police officer."

Angela tapped on one of the comments. "Look at this one. It's so spot on. A poor person who rose to fame through the internet, daring to look down on the police. Such streamers should all be arrested and given heavy sentences!"

Summer had seen that comment too.

Besides those, there were even nastier comments under her account.

Summer wasn't worried about herself; she was afraid that Adeline would be ruined because of this!

Angela stared at Summer, suddenly grabbed her bag, and made a move to leave. "If you don't want to transfer the contract, forget it. If it weren't for the fact that the streaming account still has some value, I wouldn't waste my time bailing her out."

"Mom, let me tell you, right now in Eldoria, only our Jones family dares to handle this matter." Angela sneered condescendingly. "With such a big public outcry, who would want to get involved?"

As she spoke, she pulled out the contract, her eyes filled with disdain.

"You can wait. Wait until Adeline is really convicted. By then, even if you beg me, I won't help."

Summer knew she was taking advantage of the situation, but she couldn't just watch Adeline be destroyed.

"Give me your guarantee." Summer looked up, her eyes heavy as she stared at Angela. "Guarantee that you can save Adeline and leave her with no criminal record. Otherwise, I'll drag the Jones family down with me, even if it costs me my life!"

Angela laughed. "You know the Jones family's capabilities. It's just a matter of getting someone out."

It was a setup by her and Ernest.

The outcome, of course, was up to her.

"Give me the contract." Summer's voice was low, and her hands were trembling, showing how difficult it was for her to say this.

Vanessa, who was standing by, quickly stopped her. "Summer, you can't sign this! The transfer fee is just one dollar! This is practically robbery!"

Even someone who didn't understand the internet knew that such a popular streaming account was worth far more than a dollar.

Was this even a purchase?

Vanessa was so angry she felt dizzy.

Angela glanced at her. "Vanessa, this is our family matter. Why are you, an outsider, butting in? Do you think bailing someone out doesn't cost money? If you're so noble, why don't you go pull some strings?"

Vanessa, holding a wooden bucket, wished she could smash it over Angela's head.

Angela, well-maintained, fanned the air in front of her nose. "Vanessa, please stay away from me. Mom, if you're going to sign, do it quickly. I don't have time to waste here."

Summer clutched the pen, her eyes red.

Vanessa tried to persuade her. "Summer, think carefully. It wasn't easy to build up this streaming account. It's the result of your and Adeline's hard work. If you give it to her, Adeline won't be happy even if she gets out."

Summer's voice was hoarse. "She can't be investigated."
