Chapter 35 Miraculous Medical Skills

Alexander thought, 'One of us? Charles actually thinks some rando is one of us? I've only been out of the loop for a bit, and now this? Unreal.'

Charles, being his usual blunt self, shot back, "Mr. Livingston, right now, my life’s in her hands just like yours. Gotta be a bit more practical, you know?"

Alexander wasn’t buying it. He’d seen Charles grow up; the guy might look all delicate, but he was sharp as a tack.

But his advantage was prominent, that's his good-looking.

Alexander sighed. "I really don’t know if setting up this marriage for Savannah was a genius move or a total disaster."

No way!

Just 'cause of his looks, Alexander had to keep him around, no way he was agreeing to call it off!

Where else would they find such a hottie when Savannah comes back?

"You said you can fix his illness?" Alexander felt a natural trust towards Adeline. If she said she could do it, he believed her.

Adeline smiled and nodded. "Don’t worry. I’ll do my best to treat him."

Alexander snorted, but it wasn’t aimed at Adeline; it was at Charles. "If you can be cured, why come to me to call off the engagement?"

Charles frowned. "Mr. Livingston, it’s different."

"Well, I’m not agreeing." Alexander played the stubborn card effortlessly. "If you really wanna call it off, wait till Savannah’s back and tell her yourself!"

Charles got the hint. As long as there was room to talk, it was cool. "I’ll have my guys look for her too."

"That's more like it." Getting rejected wasn’t a great look, but Alexander glanced at Adeline standing nearby with a clear conscience. "Sorry you had to see this."

Adeline didn’t mind; she actually found Alexander kinda amusing.

Adeline grabbed her medical kit, ready to start treating Alexander. He was growing more impressed with her; just her character alone was enough to make her future bright, even without being a benefactor to both the Vanderbilt and Livingston families.

Maybe soon, both families would be trying to win her over.

Before starting, Adeline needed to know Alexander’s condition. "What did you eat and use this morning? Before I start the acupuncture, I need to know your diet and meds."

Of course, Alexander couldn’t remember, so he called for Xavier. As soon as Xavier heard Adeline was coming to treat him, he rushed over like a bat outta hell.

His speed down the hallway freaked out the nurses, who thought Alexander had a sudden emergency.

After getting the basics, Adeline got to work. Her technique was on point, each needle placed perfectly. Alexander closed his eyes, feeling the gentle touch of the needles, and a cool sensation spread through him.

"What’s happening?" Alexander opened his eyes, shocked to find his symptoms easing up. He felt lighter, and the discomfort in his chest was fading.

Charles, though, was used to it. He kept a cool attitude towards Adeline’s skills but couldn’t hide his curiosity.

Xavier wasn’t as chill; his eyes were practically glowing, like he wanted to crack open Adeline’s brain to see how it worked.

Alexander had been out cold before, only hearing about Adeline’s mad skills. Experiencing it firsthand was something else.

Alexander could help but praise her, "Your skills are seriously next-level."

Adeline kept going, each needle bringing a sense of coolness and comfort. Alexander felt his body come alive, like the illness had just vanished.

"Mr. Livingston, you’re doing much better. Just make sure to rest and watch your diet," Adeline gently reminded him.

Alexander looked at Adeline, full of admiration. "You’re amazing. Thanks. I feel like I’m not even sick anymore!"
