Chapter 75 End of the Consultation

Angela shot up from her seat, her voice booming. "Stella, what the heck? Why'd you come out alone? Where's Ms. Cooper?"

Stella grabbed her hand, whispering, "Mom, let's talk about this at home."

Angela, catching on that something was off, quickly told the others, "Her anemia's acting up again. I gotta get her home, fast."

The others exchanged skeptical looks.

What was that about anemia?

Was she kicked out early?

Stella, sensing the vibe, leaned weakly into Angela. "Mom, I'm struggling to breathe. But don't worry, I didn't mess up. The consultation's done."

With such a big scene, the consultation couldn't go on.

Stella was sharp and knew how to read the room.

In less than five minutes, the inner hall doors swung open, and the famous doctors started filing out.

Everyone stood up, no longer paying attention to Angela and Stella.

Stella seized the moment, pulling Angela along as they bolted out of there.

They ran until they were out of breath.

Stella didn't want to make a scene in public.

Angela, looking frazzled, asked, "What the heck happened?"

Seeing no one around, Stella whispered, "The Cooper family is done for. Ms. Cooper's been arrested. Mom, are we in trouble?"

Angela almost lost her balance.

"No way!" She couldn't believe it. "The Coopers had connections with Mr. Bell."

"Mr. Bell got arrested too!" Stella held back a shout. "The Special Operation Unit took them down. Mom, think hard. We don't have any ties with them, right?"

Angela was stunned, then shook her head. "With your dad's money, we're not in their league."

Stella sighed in relief. "Good."

Angela still couldn't accept it, her voice rising, "How could Sara get arrested? We invested so much in her! Your dad gave the Coopers a million bucks and even took Summer's Whispering Fern for her. How could she screw up?"

Thinking about how she had been kissing up to Sara, Angela couldn't hold back her anger.

"If it weren't for their medical rep and our need to connect with the Livingstons, I wouldn't have stooped so low."

Before Angela could finish, Stella covered her mouth. "Mom, keep it down. Everyone in Eldoria is cutting ties with the Coopers. That million's gone; don't bring it up again."

Sometimes, Stella wondered how she ended up with such a clueless mom.

If it weren't for the Martinez family's money, which could help her climb the social ladder, she wouldn't have come back!

Angela didn't notice Stella's dark look, her voice low and bitter. "That was a million bucks! But you're right; we can't be linked to the Coopers now."

Angela's mind raced; she needed to warn the Jones family.

The Martinez family wasn't in Walter's league, but the Joneses might be. Luckily, they were in Zelphoria, and she would find a way to dodge this mess!

Stella didn't notice her mom's distraction; she was worried about something else. "Mom, how good is Grandma's medical skill? Today in the inner hall, Adeline looked totally different."
