Chapter 165 A Familiar Voice

After that, Lyndon hit up Nathaniel in a private chat. [Hey Nathaniel, just between us, is it your idea or Mr. Livingston's?]

[Mine. Why?] Nathaniel shot back. As a special assistant, keeping track of what the boss cared about was his top priority. That was just part of the job.

Lyndon replied: [Oh, nothing major. Just that Mr. Livingston used an internal account to tip a female streamer the other day. I thought... never mind! Just saying! Don't worry; only the three of us execs know about Mr. Livingston's account!]

'A female streamer? Really?' Nathaniel took a deep breath: [Share the streamer's channel with me, please.]

Lyndon didn't hesitate and got right on it.

After he was done, he couldn't help but smile. Charles was really going all out. This streamer was a great find! He'd have to give that room manager a bonus later!

Nathaniel quickly searched for the channel named Lumina Vitae Foundation as he left the conference room.

He felt a bit relieved; it turned out to be a medical stream. Charles must be doing it for work.

Back in the conference room, Charles waited for about three minutes before a message came back.

Lumina Vitae Foundation replied: [Mr. Livingston, you seem very interested in me and have been following me closely.]

As Adeline typed this, there was a faint chill in her eyes.

She stood in front of the medicine cabinet, her legs straight, still wearing medical windproof goggles. She bit off the glove on her other hand, excuding a badass vobe.

Just from that reply, Charles knew she wasn't in a good mood.

His well-defined fingers paused.

Charles replied: [I apologize for all the previous rudeness from the Livingston family.]

Adeline's prepared response suddenly felt inadequate when she saw this.

She unconsciously raised an eyebrow and typed: [He told you?]

She typed it but didn't send it. The tone seemed too familiar, so she deleted it and retyped.

Just then, the other person made a voice call.

Adeline didn't think much and answered it.

The person on the other end chuckled softly. "You type, delete, and type again. What are you trying to say?"

His voice was pleasant, not too high-pitched. Through the electronic device, it sounded like a late-night storyteller, magnetic and enticing.

As Adeline raised her phone, she heard this warm, intimate voice, and her ears inexplicably tingle, as if something had tickled them.

She changed her posture to listen, her brows slightly furrowed. "Your voice..."

"What?" Charles's hand, holding a pen to sign, paused.

Adeline's tone was light. "Nothing. I was just wondering if you and I have met before."

Adeline closed the door, wanting to listen more carefully.

Charles's half-lowered eyes lifted slightly. "Why do you ask?"

"Your sudden interest in a nobody like me, first with the fancy gifts, then the resource offers, definitely raises some questions," Adeline said frankly, her beautiful eyes showing shrewdness. "There's no such thing as a free lunch in this world."
