Chapter 37 The Precious Medical Book

Stella blinked, totally lost. "Huh?"

"It's that broke cousin of yours," Sara spat, mentioning Adeline with even more heat. "She messed up our hospital! And she messed with me! I totally fell for her crap! The Martinez Family is a real piece of work!"

Stella's jaw dropped. "Adeline?"

Angela was fuming. "She's just being a pain in the ass!"

Stella thought, 'Didn't I tell Adeline to go back to the sticks? Now look, she says one thing and does another. She's clearly after our cash!'

"Ms. Cooper, I'll handle her," Angela promised.

Sara felt a bit better. "I'm not gonna sink to her level. But why didn't anyone tell me she knows medicine?"

"She knows medicine?" Angela cackled like a villain. "How could she know anything about medicine?"

Sara sighed. "It's hard to say. She is sneaky as hell. Today she used acupuncture to fool Mr. Taylor."

"Mr. Taylor got fooled by her?" Stella was worried. She suddenly remembered Adeline's face and tried to act cool. "She is pretty; it's no wonder people fall for her."

Angela snorted. "She's just a pretty face, but dumb as a rock. She didn't do well in school, just hung around Summer and picked up a few tricks."

Sara was puzzled. "Aren't they family? How could she be learning from her?"

The Martinez Family might be a new small fry, but Summer had some skills, and Sara had to watch out.

Angela, though, didn't get what was so special about Summer. She opened a gift box. "Ms. Cooper, don't sweat it. Look what I got you."

"Whispering Fern!" Sara lit up, her bad mood vanishing. "Awesome!"

Angela stepped up. "And this, Summer's prized book."

Sara thought, 'Acupuncture? No wonder Adeline's moves were so unique; Summer taught her!'

Sara totally misunderstood. She looked at the medical book, her eyes shining, and couldn't put it down. After a night of ranting, Sara finally gave Angela and Stella a smile.

Sara said, "Angela, you're solid. With these two things, I can definitely fix Mr. Livingston! And then..."

Sara didn't finish, but Angela and Stella got the hint.

Angela was so pumped she almost lost her voice, eagerly asking, "Really? When can we see Mr. Livingston?"

With Whispering Fern in hand and an extra secret book from the Martinez Family, Sara felt the weight lift off her chest. She relaxed. "We'll all go. Once I cure Mr. Livingston, I'll make sure you get the credit."

Angela was over the moon.

Stella, being sneakier, didn't get as hyped as Angela but stood quietly, thinking hard.

Sara was also plotting, not caring what Stella was up to.

On the flip side, Angela and Stella would be Sara's backup. They had the upper hand in status and could totally crush Adeline.

Sara seemed to forget that she was the one who refused to treat Alexander, which led Adeline to step in. But someone like her would never blame herself; it was always someone else's fault.

Plus, in the medical world, it's all about skills. As long as she could cure Charles, the Cooper family would be tight with the Livingston family, and the whole Cooper clan would rise under her.

By then, who cared about the Zephyrox Alliance? A medical institution couldn't topple everything.

Sara had it all planned out, and without caring Angela and Stella were still there, she picked up the book and couldn't put it down. Seeing this, Stella frowned even more, and her brows stayed furrowed even after leaving the Cooper family.
