Chapter 86 Admitting Identity
It was Daniel from Sunnybrook Apartments. When he spotted Adeline, his face lit up.
"Ms. Vanderbilt, finally found you," Daniel said, wiping the sweat off his forehead. "Louis and the others have been asking why you didn't show up at the square for consultations yesterday."
They were all retired officials, and he couldn't afford to tick any of them off.
And a lot of them were decorated veterans.
Adeline handed him a piece of paper. "I'll be staying at my grandma's for a bit to help her open the pharmacy, so I won't be at the square."
Daniel's forehead was sweating even more. "You know about Louis's health and Wendy's heart condition."
With others around, Daniel was too embarrassed to say it outright.
His expression was a bit strained.
Adeline smiled, her tone light. "I was planning to go back and inform them, but since you're here, please tell Louis and the others that if they feel unwell, they can come here for consultations and support my business."
If Adeline hadn't added that last part, Daniel wouldn't have known how to report back.
Now, hearing about supporting her business, Daniel felt reassured. Those old leaders were eager to give Adeline money!
Previously, when Adeline lived in the community, she said they were all neighbors and didn't charge for consultations.
So they wanted to help Adeline but had no way.
They suggested transferring her to another school, but she said she didn't like studying.
They suggested finding connections to get her a job at a hospital, but she said she didn't want to wake up early.
Finally, it was legit!
Daniel knew Adeline said this to help him, and he felt even more grateful. "Ms. Vanderbilt, can I have a word with you?"
Adeline raised an eyebrow and followed him to the side.
Daniel lowered his voice. "Last time you said if anyone from Ravenwood Town contacted you, it might be your parents. Recently, someone called our community saying they would come to the city to see you next month."
Adeline chuckled. "Thanks. If they come, let me know."
"Okay!" Daniel still rode his electric scooter. "I'll hurry back to inform Louis and the others!"
Adeline politely said, "Take care."
Daniel responded, but his scooter didn't slow down.
Charles stood in the yard. Normally, he wouldn't care about such trivial matters, but since it involved Adeline, he asked, "Are you short of business?"
"Business is fine, but opening a pharmacy needs to build a reputation." Adeline looked towards the inner room. "The traditional healers from the older generation shouldn't be forgotten."
Patrick said, "I support you!"
Charles glanced at Patrick, somewhat impatiently.
Patrick didn't dare to interrupt anymore and immediately found something to do, like helping Robert carry a wooden bucket!
Robert gestured, indicating he didn't need help.
Patrick didn't understand sign language and naturally misunderstood, grinning. "You're welcome."
Robert thought, 'Who said I was thanking you!'
He turned his head, telling himself to hold back!
Charles watched the commotion with indifferent eyes, his tone unchanged. "If you really want to build a reputation, wasn't yesterday the best opportunity?"
"Speaking of yesterday, I almost forgot to thank you." Adeline's lips curved slightly. "The real invitation in my bag was actually from the Livingston family for you, right?"
