Chapter 97 A Hero Saves the Beauty
"I don't care how you do it; just make sure she never sets foot in Eldoria again!"
Angela slammed the phone down, her eyes blazing with disgust.
She hated being this ruthless, especially after everything they had been through together.
But some people just don't get the hint!
With that thought, Angela pulled out her phone and fired off a quick message.
By the time Adeline parked her car outside the alley that night, it was already pretty late.
She usually didn't pay much attention to the flickering streetlights.
But tonight, as soon as she stepped into the alley, shadows started closing in behind her.
Adeline, carrying a black bag, smirked slightly.
At the second corner, a tall, elegant man stood, looking like he belonged in a painting. Even the streetlights seemed to highlight him.
It was Charles.
What was he doing here?
Adeline raised an eyebrow. Charles, fiddling with the bracelet on his wrist, glanced at her and suddenly smiled. "Looks like you picked up some unwanted company."
He coughed lightly, his face pale and fragile.
Adeline lifted her chin. "You should go back."
If a fight broke out, she would have to protect him.
But Charles didn't budge. Instead, he focused on the thugs emerging from the shadows, his eyes icy.
"Trying to play the hero?" One of the thugs sneered.
"Better think twice before you try to save anyone."
There were six of them following Adeline. Now, they all stepped forward, some with scars, some towering over the others.
They looked at Charles and laughed. "Get lost! Don't mess with our business!"
One of them reached out to grab Charles.
Before he could, his hand was suddenly gripped tightly.
It was Adeline. She looked at them, her voice calm. "Do you know how valuable my patient is?"
"Wha..."
Adeline kicked forward, sending the guy flying to the ground!
The fist she had grabbed shattered with a loud crack, bones splintering into pieces!
The remaining five hesitated, then rushed at Adeline together!
Adeline's lips curled into a lazy smile. With a flick of her backpack strap, she knocked one of them down!
In an instant, they sensed danger and tried to retreat, but it was too late. One of them didn't even see how Adeline moved before a powerful force gripped his neck, slamming him against the wall.
He struggled to breathe, his pupils dilated.
Adeline, however, seemed unfazed, her beautiful face expressionless as she looked at him. The slight red at the corner of her eyes resembled a blood-stained moon.
He was so terrified that his face turned pale, his whole body trembling, cold sweat pouring down.
At this moment, Adeline loosened her grip, her gaze wild and defiant. "Who sent you?"
It couldn't be the Cooper family. With Sara's brain, she wouldn't have figured out it was her.
