Chapter 1000
"Could you help me take a picture?"
Elizabeth was looking around when someone suddenly called her.
Elizabeth turned around and saw a tall, skinny boy holding a camera. Behind him, a girl was waiting.
Elizabeth nodded and was about to take the camera to help with the photo.
Alexander asked, "May I do it?"
The boy hesitated for a moment, looked at both of them, and then smiled, "That works too."
But he was clearly hesitant.
Elizabeth smiled, "Let me do it. My photography skills might be a bit better than yours, Mr. Tudor."
Alexander shrugged and didn't say anything more.
Elizabeth stepped forward, holding the camera. The two students stood together, and it seemed like they weren't dating. The girl was wearing a dress with a coat over it, creating a nice atmosphere.
Elizabeth looked at the two of them and could tell the boy liked the girl; he was very careful.
The girl smiled sweetly at the camera.
"Do you want to get a little closer?" Elizabeth tried to help them out.
The two exchanged a glance. The girl didn't move, but the boy scooted closer.
Elizabeth smiled, "Alright, here we go. 3, 2, 1. Cheese!"
Elizabeth took the photo. The boy kept bowing and thanking her, very polite.
Elizabeth thought boys like him were quite rare.
She turned around and saw Alexander looking down at his phone.
Elizabeth walked ahead on her own without calling him.
Alexander noticed she was leaving and quickly caught up, "Why didn't you call me when you left?"
"Mr. Tudor, you're so busy, how could I dare to disturb you?" Elizabeth said sarcastically, hands in her pockets.
Alexander handed her his phone, "I'm not busy with work."
Elizabeth glanced at it out of the corner of her eye.
Wait. She looked again.
Alexander really wasn't busy with work. While Elizabeth was taking pictures for others, he had taken a picture of her.
Compared to the girl's vibrant beauty, Elizabeth's back had a more serene charm.
"It's so dark," Elizabeth said.
"I can see it clearly," he replied.
Elizabeth smiled and didn't say anything.
Alexander looked down and set the photo as his wallpaper.
Seeing her gentle back every day lifted his spirits.
"Look at that fountain," Elizabeth suddenly pointed to a small fountain in the distance.
The school had wanted to build a fountain, so they held a design competition. This was one of the student designs.
Elizabeth used to wait for Alexander there because it was a prominent landmark.
Every time she returned to medical school, Elizabeth would tell Esme, "The fountain at Lisbun University is so beautiful. When will our school get one?"
Thinking back to those days, Elizabeth felt she was so silly.
"Remember that time I bought coffee and waited for you here, but some students messed with me, and the coffee fell into the fountain?" Elizabeth crossed her arms and huffed, "One of the school administrators insisted I take responsibility!"
Alexander looked at Elizabeth. Her face was always more animated when she talked about these things.
She was genuinely angry, puffing up her cheeks, looking very cute.
"I was so mad at the time. If you hadn't stopped me, I would have bought the whole fountain!" Elizabeth said.
Alexander's lips curled into a smile as he recalled the scene.
Elizabeth had been so aggrieved. When she saw him, it was like seeing a savior. But before he arrived, she had been holding her own against a group of people, arguing her case.
As soon as he showed up, she fell silent, and the first thing she said was, "Alexander."
