Chapter 1099

Elizabeth and Alexander arrived in the evening.

She went home first, just in time for dinner.

When she opened the door, the aroma of food filled the house. Elizabeth changed her shoes and headed to the dining room.

Before she got there, she heard Rose laughing and saying, "What do you know? Grant and Celine are the true definition of growing old together in love."

"With Celine's temper, I'm the only one who could put up with her!" This came from Grant.

Elizabeth smiled.

The pairing of Grant and Celine indeed involved more tolerance from Grant. Over the years, due to her status and personality, Celine had been quite strong-willed.

But in life, both people need to compromise and adapt to each other to go the distance. If both Celine and Grant were stubborn, they wouldn't have lasted this long!

Besides, when Grant chose Celine, he knew what he was signing up for, didn't he?

Loving someone meant loving all of them.

"What's going on in here? Sounds like a happy conversation!" Elizabeth's sudden appearance surprised everyone.

Elizabeth had said she would come back today but didn't specify when.

Rose looked up and saw Elizabeth, a hint of surprise in her eyes, and smiled, "Well, look who it is! Just in time for dinner. Come and eat!"

"Mom, I missed you." Elizabeth walked over and hugged Rose.

Rose had been traveling with Declan, and Elizabeth hadn't seen her for about half a month and missed her dearly!

"I can't tell you missed me at all!" Rose tapped Elizabeth on the head.

Elizabeth chuckled, washed her hands, and sat down to eat.

"Did you have fun on your trip?" Celine asked her.

Elizabeth nodded emphatically, "Absolutely."

"I think you're happy not because of the trip, but because you got back together with Alexander!" Celine added.

Elizabeth froze mid-chew.

"Grandma." Elizabeth called out playfully, then looked at Declan and said, "I only dared to take the next step because Dad agreed."

Celine snorted, "You only listen to your dad. What about our advice? Don't we count for anything?"

Elizabeth immediately put her hands together, "Grandma, of course I listen to you!"

Elizabeth's ingratiating look made Celine sigh repeatedly.

"Grandma, do you agree with me getting back together with Alexander?" Elizabeth asked softly, feeling inexplicably guilty.

Celine asked seriously, "If I don't agree, will you not get back together with him?"

"If the family doesn't agree, of course, I won't get back together!" Elizabeth answered firmly.

Celine snorted, "But haven't you already agreed to be with him?"

The atmosphere suddenly became tense.

Grant shot Celine an exasperated look.

She was really putting Elizabeth on the spot!

"Grandma," Elizabeth called softly.

Grant quickly said, "Don't mind your grandma. Your relationship is your own business. Handle it however you want! We'll support you no matter what."

"You always take her side." Celine snorted angrily and put down her utensils.

Grant patted her shoulder and comforted her, "It's already happened, so why make a fuss? Besides, Elizabeth will grow up eventually. Can you watch over her forever? Everyone has their own path. Who knows if this time it's the right one?"

Rose nodded in agreement with Grant while serving Elizabeth some soup.

At the lively dinner table, only Declan remained silent, eating his meal quietly. After finishing, he went to watch the news.

Elizabeth left the table early, went to the living room, and sat next to Declan.

"Dad, do you regret agreeing to me getting back together with Alexander?" Elizabeth asked.

Declan chuckled, looking indifferent, and said, "I never regret what I say."
