Chapter 978

In the car, Alexander was replying to Kieran's message.

Alexander: [Still not asleep?]

Kieran: [I just finished an international meeting. Are you back yet? Everything okay?]

[No problem, get some rest. I'm taking Elizabeth home.]

[Alexander, I think if you keep trying, Elizabeth might really remarry you. If you do win her back this time, make sure to treat her well. Honestly, women have soft hearts.]

Alexander looked at Kieran's message, his eyes gradually showing emotion.

Alexander had to turn his head, his gaze falling on Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was still asleep, hugging her arms, looking very insecure.

Alexander replied to Kieran's message: [Got it.]

Kieran: [Alright, good night.]

Alexander didn't reply again.

The car arrived at the Percy Mansion's gate.

Alexander just looked at Elizabeth, not waking her up.

Letting her sleep a bit longer, or perhaps, letting her sleep by his side a bit longer.

It was rare for Elizabeth to sleep so peacefully beside him, even if it was just in the car.

Time passed bit by bit, around 3:30 AM, Elizabeth sneezed and suddenly woke up.

The streetlights at the Percy Mansion's gate were bright, and the foyer light was still on for Elizabeth.

Alexander saw her sneeze and immediately pulled the blanket over her.

Elizabeth looked up, the dim car light revealing Alexander's handsome face.

Elizabeth slowly closed her eyes, then opened them again.

She touched the bag beside her, took out her phone, and saw it was already 3:30 AM.

"When did we get here?" she asked.

Alexander said, "Around 2 AM."

"Why didn't you wake me?" Elizabeth sniffed, feeling a bit cold from sleep.

"Couldn't bear to." He replied.

Elizabeth frowned, not saying anything. She took off the blanket, and there was also Alexander's suit jacket on her.

She handed the jacket back to Alexander, pointing to his arm, "Remember not to get it wet."

Alexander nodded, responding gently, "Okay."

"I'm home, I'm going in." She was about to push the car door open.

Alexander grabbed Elizabeth's wrist.

Elizabeth looked up at him, "What's wrong?"

"Did you have a dream?" he asked.

Elizabeth thought for a moment, shook her head, "No."

She seemed to have dreamed, but couldn't remember the content.

Alexander smiled, his eyes gentle, he said, "Elizabeth, you called my name many times."

Elizabeth froze.

Did she call Alexander's name in her sleep?

"Really?" Elizabeth felt awkward.

Usually, she insisted they had no chance, but she called his name in her sleep.

Elizabeth gave an embarrassed smile, hurriedly grabbed her bag, and got out of the car without looking back.

He still wanted to say something to Elizabeth, but she had already entered the yard, walking especially fast. She even took off her high heels because they were in the way and ran into the yard.

"She likes to take off her shoes, even in such cold weather." Alexander frowned, his eyes complex.

Elizabeth only realized how cold it was after running back home!

The first thing she did when she got to her room was soak her feet.

Alexander saw the light in her room turn on, smiled helplessly, and told Nolan to drive away.

"Ms. Percy is quite cute," Nolan said.
