Chapter 280

Elizabeth had just exchanged a few words with Lila when Kieran walked over.

"Ladies, isn't it a bit dull with just the two of you? Mind if I join?" Kieran grinned mischievously.

Elizabeth crossed her arms and nodded towards Faith. "I saw you chatting with Faith."

Kieran glanced at Faith and sighed, "I don't even know her. Lila's the only one I know in the entertainment industry," he said, pointing at Lila.

Lila, caught off guard while eating, looked up.

"How lucky I am to be remembered by you, Mr. Getty," Lila smiled politely.

Kieran leaned against the bar, eyeing Lila with interest. "That smile seems fake."

"I can show you something even faker, want to see?" Lila shot back, clearly annoyed.

Kieran, experienced in reading people, sensed Lila's hostility.

He frowned, leaned in closer, and asked, "Ms. Parker, have I offended you?"

Elizabeth, silently eating cake, found their interaction amusing.

She glanced over and saw Alexander surrounded by women.

Even if Esme got Alexander, he wouldn't settle down.

Esme wasn't like Elizabeth; she couldn't ignore Alexander's attention to other women.

Esme was possessive.

If Esme were here tonight, things would be more interesting.

Just then, Elizabeth noticed someone new entering the venue.

"Mr. Getty, you haven't offended me. I just don't like you," Lila said bluntly.

Kieran, equally direct, replied, "I don't get it. We haven't even interacted, so why the issue?"

"Look who's at the door," Elizabeth interrupted.

Lila and Kieran turned to look.

Henry went up to greet the newcomer.

"Wasn't she hospitalized?" Kieran was surprised.

"What happened to her?" Lila asked, finally engaging with Kieran.

"You don't know? She fought with Alexander the night before last and was left on the street. She waited outside his house all night and day, got drenched, and ended up in the hospital with a fever," Kieran explained, sighing. "I don't know what she did to anger Alexander so much."

Alexander had never treated Esme like this before.

Whenever Esme cried, Alexander would always give in.

It seemed Esme had really pushed Alexander this time.

"So, is she here to seek forgiveness?" Lila asked Kieran.

Kieran turned and met Lila's captivating eyes.

He had never found any woman's eyes so breathtaking until now.

Kieran suddenly felt like he was falling in love.

Lila was truly beautiful.

"Hello?" Lila's voice was lazy.

Kieran cleared his throat, trying to hide his awkwardness. "Sorry."

"No problem," Lila smiled generously. She was used to men being stunned by her.

Kieran suddenly felt like he had been played by Lila!

"Not sure," Kieran said, looking towards Esme.
