Chapter 1059
'Do Lila's fans know how good she is at acting cute?' Elizabeth thought.
She tapped Lila on the head.
Lila looked up and met Elizabeth's gaze.
Her eyes were filled with concern as she looked at Elizabeth.
The reason Lila couldn't stay by Elizabeth's side wasn't mainly because she was busy. It was because Elizabeth had almost given up everything for Alexander during those years.
Now, this was the real Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth, fortunately, everything is getting better," Lila said gently.
Elizabeth nodded; indeed, everything was getting better.
In the comfortable silence between them, Elizabeth absently twirled a strand of Lila's hair between her fingers. "Lila," she asked softly, "if Alexander keeps pushing, what do you think I should do?"
Lila smiled, "Before you asked me that question, didn't you already have the answer in your heart?"
Elizabeth frowned.
No. Did she?
"You've always been smart and independent," Lila continued. "Deep down, you know what choice to make. No one else can make this decision for you."
Neither spoke again after that.
Maybe that was how it was.
When we asked others for advice, we had often already decided what we wanted to do.
Elizabeth was just looking for someone to validate the choice she'd already made in her heart.
Morning.
Elizabeth and Lila finished their makeup and went to have breakfast.
In the restaurant, Alexander and Kieran were already chatting when Elizabeth slid into the seat next to Alexander.
"Morning," she said with a yawn.
Before Alexander could respond, Kieran asked, "Morning. Did you sleep well?"
Alexander shot Kieran an irritated glance. Did she ask him? Kieran was always butting in.
He regretted bringing Kieran along! So annoying!
Lila noticed Alexander's displeasure and suppressed a smile. "Boss, can you come with me to get an egg?"
Kieran looked up, confused. Didn't Lila already have one on her plate?
"Can I get another egg? They ran out when I got mine earlier," Lila smiled slightly.
Kieran's face brightened. She just wanted his company for such a simple task.
Of course he was willing—more than willing!
Kieran nodded and immediately got up to follow Lila.
Elizabeth watched their backs as they left, took a sip of milk, and then looked at Alexander.
Alexander nodded, "Morning."
Elizabeth didn't say anything else, so he asked, "Where are you planning to go today? Mind if we join you?"
"Sure, but you're paying," Elizabeth answered casually.
"Fine by me," he agreed without hesitation.
Elizabeth smiled, "You'll pay for everything we buy?"
"Yes, everything," he said.
Elizabeth pouted and looked at Alexander.
Alexander seemed to have guessed what Elizabeth was going to say next.
"I don't just buy jewelry and bags, you know."
"What else do you buy?"
"Can I buy cars, real estate, maybe a private jet too?" Elizabeth teased.
"I make money so my wife can spend it. If you want to spend, nothing would make me happier," he replied with a serious, mature smile.
"But I'm not your wife."
"You were before. And you will be again," his eyes were even more determined.
Elizabeth could even feel that he was eager to hand her his bank card, but he didn't because he was afraid she would run away.
