Chapter 956

"Since Alexander invited us, he must have invited you too, right?" Declan suddenly asked Elizabeth.

Elizabeth pursed her lips. She walked over, sat down beside the two of them, and took out the invitation from her pocket.

Her invitation was very different from Declan's. Hers was clearly custom-made.

Elizabeth opened the invitation, which was for inviting a female companion. Declan's was simply for inviting a guest.

Elizabeth and Declan exchanged a glance. Declan smiled, "Since you've accepted the invitation, it seems you've already agreed to attend Alexander's annual party."

Elizabeth nodded.

"Since you're going, shall we go too?" Declan was still probing.

Testing whether Elizabeth would let them go.

"Dad, whether I go or not, Alexander invited you, so you should go. After all, it's high society, and you can meet a lot of people." Elizabeth told Declan.

Declan immediately shook his head, "You don't understand. If you have no relationship with Alexander, we don't want to have any connection with him either. Even if it's to use him to meet others, we don't want that."

Elizabeth was once again influenced by Declan's principles.

Declan truly had integrity. If she could be as principled as Declan, she probably wouldn't have softened just because Alexander sweet-talked her.

"Okay. Dad, you're right." Elizabeth nodded at Declan.

But after a whole day of fuss, she was really tired. She wanted to go upstairs, take a shower, and rest.

Declan said, "Alright, go rest."

Elizabeth nodded.

Rose said, "Since you're attending, why not wear the dress I designed for you this time?"

Elizabeth turned to look at Rose, then nodded, "Okay."

If not for this occasion, then when?

Elizabeth took a shower and got into bed. Before resting, she checked her phone.

Her news was still trending on Instagram.

The big screen flashed her name, and fans of those idol stars were all saying: [This is as grand as our fan support.]

This was Alexander's way of expressing his love.

Truly, the rich were willful, flaunting however they wanted.

As Elizabeth was looking, her phone's Facebook notification sounded.

Alexander: [Are you asleep?]

Elizabeth stared at the message for a while. Looking up, all the previous messages were from Alexander, and she hadn't replied to any of them.

Elizabeth inexplicably felt a bit pleased. Who told Alexander not to reply before?

Could he now understand how she felt? It was really lonely and helpless.

Clearly, this person could see your messages, but they just ignored you. That feeling was really awful.

Elizabeth lowered her eyes, and her phone rang again.

Alexander: [Elizabeth, Happy New Year.]

Elizabeth pouted. Did he have nothing else to say?

Didn't he just say Happy New Year outside?

Elizabeth: [Can't you say something else?]

Alexander: [I thought you were asleep.]

Elizabeth: [Not yet.]

Alexander: [I sent an invitation to your dad for the annual party today. I wonder if your parents will come.]

Elizabeth: [Do you want them to come?]

Alexander: [Since I sent the invitation, of course, I want them to come. Besides, they are your parents. They should come to the Tudor Group's annual party.]

Elizabeth: [You never invited us to the Tudor Group's annual party before.]

Alexander: [That was before. Now is now. I was foolish before.]

Elizabeth looked at the message and didn't reply.

Alexander: [I know you care a lot about the past. But Elizabeth, I've really changed.]

Elizabeth: [Got it.]

Alexander: [What do you mean by 'got it'?]

Elizabeth looked at the reply, seemingly able to picture Alexander's face at that moment.

He must be frowning, asking in a displeased tone, "What do you mean by 'got it'?"

Elizabeth: [You're different from before.]

Alexander: [You're brushing me off.]

Elizabeth: [Goodnight, I'm sleepy.]

Alexander: [Avoiding me?]

Elizabeth: [Blocking you.]

Alexander: [Don't.]
