Chapter 121
The elevator doors opened, and Elizabeth walked out right away.
Alexander watched her stubborn figure, feeling a slight pang in his heart.
At the hospital ward entrance, Elizabeth stopped. Facing Alexander, she placed her hands in front of her and said gently, "Mr. Tudor, I'll see you off here. Sorry for bothering you all morning."
"It's fine." Alexander glanced at her again.
He wanted to say she could call him if she needed anything.
Before he could speak, a familiar voice came over. "Elizabeth."
Both Alexander and Elizabeth looked over and saw Joseph approaching with a bouquet and gifts.
"Mr. Tudor, you're here too?" Joseph looked at Alexander, surprised.
"Surprised?" Alexander looked coldly at Joseph, his tone icy.
Recently, he and Joseph had been competing for the same piece of land.
"Indeed. I thought Mr. Tudor only had Ms. Russell in mind and didn't care about your ex-wife's family matters." Joseph smiled.
Elizabeth couldn't help but look at Joseph.
Alexander frowned, sensing the hostility in Joseph's tone.
Was Joseph addicted to provoking people? Lately, he had been particularly rude to Alexander.
"Mr. Stewart, You are not qualified to lecture me.." Alexander took a step forward, looking expressionlessly at Joseph. He placed his arm around Elizabeth's shoulder, pulling her into his embrace, and said forcefully, "Elizabeth and I are not divorced yet, so it's not your place to shout here!"
Joseph squinted, sizing up Alexander and then looking at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was embarrassed. Alexander only remembered she was his wife when he needed to use her.
Elizabeth removed Alexander's hand and said to him, "Mr. Tudor, you go ahead, I won't disturb you."
Alexander was somewhat surprised that Elizabeth pushed him away in front of Joseph.
"Joseph, my father is upstairs, let's go." Elizabeth said politely to Joseph.
Joseph immediately nodded and followed Elizabeth into the hospital ward, leaving Alexander at the entrance. Alexander stared at their backs, clenching his jaw, a surge of inexplicable anger rising in his heart.
'She called me Mr. Tudor but addressed Joseph by his first name. They were really sweet, weren't they? Sure enough, after leaving me, Elizabeth's taste had worsened!' Thinking of this, Alexander became even angrier.
He opened the car door and got in, lighting a cigarette in frustration.
Lately, he didn't know why he had been easily irritable, always wanting to smoke to calm down whenever he felt upset.
Alexander looked towards the distant hospital ward. Thinking of Elizabeth pushing him away and smiling gently at Joseph, his chest felt blocked, making it hard to breathe.
He rolled the car window all the way down, resting his arm on the window, letting the ash fall to the ground.
Frowning, Alexander was about to drive away when he noticed Elizabeth's ID left on the passenger seat.
He reached out to pick it up, exhaling a smoke ring.
He recalled their college days. He played basketball on the court, and Elizabeth would come to watch him every day, bringing him water and towels.
She was beautiful, optimistic, and cheerful. Several friends who played basketball with him would always ask for her contact information, wanting to pursue her. Feeling annoyed, he stopped letting Elizabeth come to watch him play.
She was obedient. From then on, she never came to watch him play basketball again.
