Chapter 983
Alexander glanced at Elizabeth once more and said, "Sorry," before leaving.
Elizabeth watched Alexander's back and tightened her grip on Callum's arm.
Luckily, Callum came; otherwise, she really wouldn't have known what to do just now.
"If he wants a photo, just take it with him. He won't recognize you," Callum whispered.
Elizabeth shook her head. "Photos capture everything. When you zoom in, there are always clues."
"Boss, you're really cautious," Callum laughed.
"If I had known they were coming, I wouldn't have come!"
Callum looked at Elizabeth again, feeling melancholic. "Boss, isn't having multiple hidden identities not so good? Going out every day with a hidden identity is nerve-wracking."
Elizabeth was speechless. Of course, she knew that.
Alexander returned to the VIP room, and Kieran poured him a glass of water. "You saw that woman? Was it Elizabeth?"
"No," Alexander shook his head.
"I knew it, how could it be Elizabeth?"
"But she looked a lot like her. It could be," Alexander took a sip of water, his eyes gradually deepening.
If you asked him what made her look alike.
It was her tone when she spoke.
Although her voice was very low, it seemed deliberately lowered.
Kieran said, "That's simple. Just video call Elizabeth and see if she's really at the research institute."
Alexander thought about it and really considered making the video call.
But after thinking it over carefully, he decided against it.
He had finally gained a bit of favor in front of Elizabeth.
At this moment, the host's voice sounded on the big screen.
"Our competition is about to start!"
Alexander looked up. On the left screen, there was live streaming equipment, and on the right was a large floor-to-ceiling window, looking out at the sprawling Eaglecrest Mountain.
This VIP room was definitely a prime spot for watching the competition.
Alexander stood up and looked outside.
There were 14 participants in today's competition, including 4 women, and the rest were men.
Alexander crossed his arms and quietly watched the personal profile cards flashing on the big screen.
NO.1: Steve! Will join the competition halfway through and start the knockout rounds!
NO.2: Rolf! Three-time consecutive club league champion.
Kieran was dissatisfied. "This Steve is really mysterious. What does it mean to join halfway through the competition?"
Alexander said nothing.
He continued to look outside and saw the woman from earlier.
She was leaning against the railing, casually playing with the helmet in her hand. Everyone else was warming up, but she stood there calmly, as if she didn't take the competition seriously at all.
This demeanor, could it be Steve's?
Alexander tilted his head. At that moment, he saw a man walk up to her.
Alexander took a step forward.
From a distance, he couldn't see the man's face clearly.
But for some reason, he had a feeling that this wasn't the boyfriend she mentioned earlier, but another man.
And he might know this man!
"Now, let's have the first and second contestants get ready!"
The host's words pulled Alexander's thoughts back. When he looked again, the man was gone, leaving only the woman.
In the quiet, Kieran muttered, " Why do I increasingly feel like it's Elizabeth?"
