Chapter 1140
Alexander's eyelashes fluttered as he looked at Elizabeth in front of him with some surprise.
Unconsciously, he placed his hand on her waist and pulled her into his embrace.
Elizabeth hugged him, her voice gentle, "Thank you for loving me."
"Elizabeth, it's never you who should say thank you. It's me who should thank you for loving me and choosing me so steadfastly," Alexander gently stroked her hair and then looked over at Valentin.
The police couldn't get close.
Valentin was in a state of high alert, still wanting to run. Or maybe he was stalling for time, hoping for someone from Dream City to come and rescue him.
"Atticus, got any ideas? What are we gonna do about this?" Winford tugged at Atticus's sleeve.
Atticus said, "Did you see them kiss just now?"
Winford was furious. "Are you serious right now? We're in this mess and you're worried about whether they kissed?"
Callum remained silent.
Through the headset, Oliver's voice crackled. "Wait, what? They kissed? Who?"
"Give me the inside scoop!" Oliver was getting anxious.
Celestia: "Aren't you watching the live stream?"
Oliver: "What live stream? I'm swamped over here! I'm trying to cut off the live stream!"
Callum: "Don't cut the live stream, let's watch it together. This live stream is pretty interesting."
Finnian: "What's interesting about it? Look at what the online users are discussing, it's annoying. I support Oliver cutting it off."
Winford: "Alright, stop arguing. Can someone please tell me what to do about the explosive device on the Boss's ankle?"
Oliver: "It's simple. As long as Valentin is alive, let him deal with it."
Just as Oliver finished speaking.
A gunshot suddenly rang out in the warehouse!
Everyone looked up.
Outside the door, Elara helped Rose walk in, and upon seeing the scene inside, her eyes widened.
Allen, looking at Esme being burned in the fire, was tearful but also startled.
Winford was stunned, and soon saw the police rush in, pinning Valentin to the ground.
"Alexander!"
Elizabeth's voice sounded particularly intense in the suddenly quiet warehouse.
Everyone turned to look at Alexander and Elizabeth.
The gunshot had hit Alexander.
"Alexander." Elizabeth's eyes instantly reddened, her hands covered in his blood.
Alexander frowned and lowered his head; the bullet had hit his shoulder.
His body swayed slightly, then he looked at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth raised her eyes and met his gaze.
"I finally did something useful, didn't I?" His voice was soft.
Elizabeth's tears fell instantly.
"You always said that love that comes too late means the least. I should be the one thanking you for giving me another chance," he said, holding Elizabeth's hand.
Alexander looked into her eyes, a slight smile on his lips, and said painfully, "If we both come out of this unscathed, will you marry me again?"
Elizabeth's eyes reddened, and then she nodded, "Yes."
'Yes! She said yes.'
That was all his heart needed.
"Half a month has passed since the kidnapping, and today we finally have the chance to interview Mr. Tudor. Alright, the camera can now focus on Mr. Tudor."
The reporter came to the bedside, and the camera captured Alexander on the hospital bed.
Alexander still looked a bit weak, but his wound had healed well.
On the live stream, the comments were buzzing.
Some said he was a brave man for taking a bullet for Elizabeth.
