Chapter 937

Rose Banquet

Elizabeth had almost finished eating. Everyone was chatting, and a few people were already drunk. It was uncertain if they could make it to the second round.

The sky outside had already darkened. Many friends on Facebook were posting their year-end summaries, all looking forward to the New Year.

Declan also sent Elizabeth a message, asking if she would be coming home today.

Elizabeth: [Where else would I go if not home? I'm at a class reunion, I'll be back later.]

Declan: [Enjoy your young people's party. Call me if you need anything.]

Elizabeth smiled.

Having a father like Declan made her genuinely happy.

In her next life, she still wanted to be Declan's daughter.

"Elizabeth, want a drink?" A gentle male voice came from beside her.

Elizabeth picked up her glass. It was a handsome man.

He was the man who had arrived late, the one Thalia had gone out to bring in. Given his good looks, Elizabeth had a bit of an impression of him.

"Hello." Elizabeth smiled at him and took a sip of her drink.

"Just a sip?" he joked.

Elizabeth shrugged, "My dad is waiting for me to come home tonight."

"Good kid, huh?" he laughed.

Elizabeth didn't continue the conversation.

But the man didn't seem to want to leave, as if he wanted to chat a bit more.

However, Elizabeth wasn't interested and didn't feel like talking. She just wanted to listen to everyone complain about their lives.

"Did you come alone today?" he suddenly asked.

Elizabeth looked up, "Yeah. I don't have a plus-one to bring."

"I'm alone too," he said.

She wasn't interested. She hadn't asked if he was alone.

What a weirdo.

Elizabeth really didn't want to continue the awkward conversation, so she smiled and said, "I'm going out to take a call."

In fact, no one was calling her.

She walked into the hallway, took a few steps away, and leaned against the wall. She took out her phone and sent a message to Lila.

Elizabeth: [Class reunion, half interesting, half boring.]

Lila: [Celebration party, half interesting, half boring.]

Elizabeth laughed.

Elizabeth: [When are you going home?]

Lila: [After it's over.]

Elizabeth: [It's New Year's Eve tonight.]

Lila: [Alexander didn't insist on spending New Year's Eve with you?]

Elizabeth: [I turned him down.]

Lila: [Can you really turn him down?]

Elizabeth stared at that message for a while.

She thought, maybe, she couldn't turn him down.

Alexander seemed easygoing now, but in reality, he was very stubborn.

If he set his mind on something, he was more persistent than she was.

As Elizabeth was thinking, the door to the private room opened.

The man from earlier had followed her out.

"Elizabeth, why haven't you gone back in? I thought something happened to you!"

"No, I was just messaging a friend. It's too noisy inside to hear clearly." Elizabeth smiled, but she had lost her good impression of the man.

He was annoying.

Her sudden departure meant she didn't want to chat with him. Yet he still followed her out.

"Can we add each other on Facebook?" he asked.
