Elizabeth turned off her phone.

Elizabeth got out of the car.
She put Alexander's suit jacket back in the car.

As Elizabeth changed her shoes and walked into the living room, she heard Rose ask, "You're back?"
Elizabeth thought they were so engrossed in their conversation that they wouldn't notice her and wanted to sneak up and scare them.
"Yeah," Elizabeth said.
"How were the fireworks Mr. Tudor set off? Were they beautiful?" Rose asked Elizabeth.
Elizabeth paused, "Mom, you know it too?"
"Of course. Such extravagance, fireworks all over the city, so loud we couldn't sleep! Who wouldn't know?"
"And that big screen, even though we know Alexander is very rich, it's the first time I felt like everywhere I go, it's all about my daughter," Rose joked.
Elizabeth chuckled and squeezed herself between the two of them on the couch.
She hugged Rose's arm, acting like a child, and said, "Mom, why are you teasing me too?"
Declan asked, "Why did he set off so many fireworks for you?"
Elizabeth replied, "Because I wanted to, so he set them off for me."
