Chapter 150

"Elizabeth, are you threatening me?" Alexander's eyes narrowed, a hint of menace in his gaze.

Elizabeth straightened up, looking serious. "I swear, I'm not threatening you."

She totally was, but she wasn't about to admit it.

Alexander was furious, his face even colder.

"Ms. Percy, here's the company's loss statement." He stood up, slapped a thick document on the table, and said coldly, "Pay up on time, or we'll see you in court."

Elizabeth frowned, flipping through the statement. It made her head spin.

Seriously? He wanted her to cover the breakfast and lunch losses because employees couldn't come to work? So petty!

Felix had even said that Alexander would go easy on her because she was his wife. That was nonsense!

Elizabeth glared at Alexander. "Are you that desperate for money?"

"Ms. Percy, you brought this on yourself." He smirked and turned to leave. Then he paused and added, "Be punctual. If this goes to court, it won't end well for anyone. Especially you, Ms. Percy."

Elizabeth watched him leave, fuming.

She stared at the thick compensation statement and flipped to the last page. The total was 34 million dollars.

She fell silent.

Below that, there was a note, "Since we're still married, I gave you a 50% discount."

Elizabeth gritted her teeth. 'Should I thank him for the discount?'

She slapped the table and sat down.

The food on the table was barely touched by Alexander. She noticed it was all her favorite dishes.

She planned to have breakfast before leaving, but thinking of Alexander's gloomy face, she decided to go.

Unexpectedly, the door opened, and a waiter walked in, smiling. "Hello, Ms. Percy, Mr. Tudor said you'd be paying for this meal."

Elizabeth was silent. 'Alexander, this is too much!'

"Put it on his tab!" she snapped.

"No, you must pay." The waiter smiled politely. "Mr. Tudor said you can't leave unless you pay, Ms. Percy. Please don't put me in a difficult position."

The waiter couldn't disobey Alexander's orders.

Elizabeth sighed and paid the bill.

After paying, she sat down and started eating.

'I paid for it, so why shouldn't I eat?' She thought, unblocking Alexander's number and sending a text.

Elizabeth: [Do you not feel guilty treating your not-yet-divorced wife like this?]

Alexander: [You remember you're my wife now? Weren't you my ex-wife, Ms. Percy?]

Elizabeth bit her lip, gripping her phone tighter.

Alexander: [I'm just learning to talk like you. Ms. Percy, are you angry?]

Elizabeth sneered and rolled her eyes.

Alexander had clearly spent too much time with Esme; his words were getting more and more annoying!

Elizabeth: [I'm not angry. It's my good fortune that my ex-husband is so clear-headed!]

After sending the message, she blocked Alexander again.

Alexander typed a message but found he was blocked again, feeling a bit helpless.

"Mr. Tudor, don't forget to pick up the foreign partners at the St. Regis Hotel tonight," Nolan reminded him.

Alexander agreed, turned off his phone, and rubbed his temples. He looked exhausted.

Evening.

Elizabeth finished work and got a text from Declan: [Don't forget to go to the hotel.]

She sighed. Even though she didn't want to go, she obediently went.
