Chapter 747
He was tall and thin.
He was wrapped up so tightly that not even his eyes were visible.
But Elizabeth saw the dagger he slowly pulled out from beside his leg.
The emergency exit was dimly lit, but his dagger emitted a blinding light, very bright.
Elizabeth squinted, "Who are you?"
"Elizabeth, you'd better not mess with my business," he said.
Elizabeth laughed, "And what business is that? Killing Lily?"
The man stepped down one stair.
Elizabeth wasn't afraid of this man at all.
"Killing someone is considered business?" Elizabeth mocked.
The man stopped in his tracks, "I have no grudge against you, don't force me to hurt you."
"You bumped into me on purpose, didn't you? Just to lure me here?" Elizabeth tilted her head.
"Did Esme send you?" Elizabeth got straight to the point.
Elizabeth couldn't see his face, so she naturally didn't notice the flash of surprise in his eyes when he heard this.
"Why would you think that?" he asked.
"Esme is the most twisted person. She can't have Alexander, so of course, she wants to destroy him. But her methods are always vicious; she wouldn't destroy Alexander directly. She would target the people around him! She's such a proud person, loving Alexander for so many years, and in the end, Alexander doesn't even want to see her."
At this, Elizabeth laughed and said lightly, "Making Alexander suffer would make her feel a little better. Tell me, am I right?"
The man gripped the dagger tightly, staring straight at Elizabeth. She had guessed completely correctly.
Esme indeed planned to take revenge on Alexander.
"Esme is the one who did wrong, how does she have the nerve to take revenge on Alexander?" Elizabeth laughed, stepping forward onto the stairs.
The man frowned, his eyes instantly filled with caution, and he took a step back.
Elizabeth stepped up again, slowly approaching him, "If Esme really sent you, then let me guess, you're Vincent, right?"
Vincent's steps halted.
His eyes turned dangerous.
Elizabeth smirked, "Vincent, you really are a loyal dog to Esme!"
Vincent was willing to do anything for Esme, even kill Lily!
Vincent gritted his teeth and shouted, "Shut up!"
This retort confirmed that he was indeed Vincent.
Elizabeth stopped, looking at the person in front of her with a mocking tone, "Vincent, Esme is such a heartless woman, do you think she'll be moved by your total devotion to her?"
"If you fail, she'll clean up your body. But if you succeed, she'll still clean up your body!" Elizabeth warned him.
Esme wouldn't allow someone with blood on their hands to stay by her side!
"She won't!" Vincent retorted.
Elizabeth laughed, "You're too naive."
"True feelings can't be exchanged for true feelings, especially with Esme!" Elizabeth hinted for him to wake up.
Elizabeth looked coldly at Vincent, her voice turning dangerous, "Vincent, stop now, and I can pretend you were never here."
"Do you think I'll stop?" Vincent questioned Elizabeth.
Just as Elizabeth was about to speak again, Vincent suddenly stepped down and lunged at Elizabeth with the dagger in his right hand!
Elizabeth quickly retreated two steps, and the two of them soon tangled together.
Vincent's dagger attacked Elizabeth several times, and Elizabeth kept dodging, finally kicking Vincent away!
Vincent's movements were very agile.
Elizabeth knew Vincent; he had been practicing martial arts since he was young and had even won the youth Taekwondo championship at fifteen!
It was because he was a black belt in Taekwondo that the Russell Family allowed Vincent to stay by Esme's side!
Elizabeth hadn't fought in a long time, and without her silver needles, she couldn't deliver a fatal blow.
She had no choice but to try to seize the dagger from Vincent's hand.
Vincent had the upper hand and threatened, "Elizabeth, you'd better pretend you saw nothing, or I'll take your life first!"
