Chapter 996

"Are you complimenting me?" Alexander suddenly felt like a fool in front of Elizabeth.

He couldn't understand any good or bad words.

He only knew that as long as Elizabeth was in front of him, just looking at her made him feel satisfied.

Elizabeth noticed that Alexander seemed quite dumb today.

So, she decided not to tease him.

Soon, the waiter served the dishes.

The sound of the cello gently filled the air, very pleasant to the ears. It was a rare quiet evening, and Elizabeth had been very tired recently. Suddenly enjoying this gentleness felt quite comfortable.

Elizabeth was about to cut the foie gras when Alexander handed her a small piece of steak. "Try it, it's really good," he said.

Elizabeth looked at Alexander.

He didn't move, just stared at her, waiting for her to eat first.

Elizabeth pursed her lips, not wanting to spoil the mood.

The taste was indeed good.

Seeing that she liked it, Alexander cut two more pieces for her and said, "If you like it, we can come here often."

"Do you come here often?" Elizabeth asked him.

He shook his head, "No, just occasionally."

"I thought you often brought Esme here," she said lazily.

Alexander paused, continued cutting the steak, and smiled, "Are you jealous?"

"I wouldn't dare," Elizabeth refused.

Alexander curved his lips and took a bite of the steak.

For some reason, today's steak tasted better than ever.

Alexander looked up, "The day after tomorrow is a holiday, how are you planning to spend it?"

"I'll go visit my grandparents," she said.

After a few seconds of silence, he boldly asked, "Can I come with you?"

Elizabeth almost choked on her food.

"Did you forget how my grandparents treated you last time?" His ears had turned red back then; had he forgotten that embarrassing feeling?

If Elizabeth hadn't helped him out, he would have lost all his dignity that day.

Grant had changed his clothes to receive him, but it made no difference, as if Grant only did it to improve his own image.

"No problem, I can handle it," his eyes showed more determination.

Elizabeth laughed.

He said, "Really, I can handle it."

Elizabeth lowered her eyes, suddenly thinking of their college days. Every time she questioned him, he would answer the same way: I can handle it.

And he really could handle it.

He was Alexander, after all. What couldn't he handle?

"Then come handle it," Elizabeth didn't refuse.

This was a huge surprise for Alexander.

"You agreed to let me go to your grandparents' house?" he asked in surprise, his voice a bit louder.

People around them started to look over. Elizabeth frowned, why was he so excited?

As the CEO of the Tudor Group, a financial magnate in Lisbun, what major events hadn't he seen? Why was he so emotional now?

"You agreed?" he asked again, this time in a lower voice.

Elizabeth nodded, she agreed.

Alexander smiled, "Don't worry, this time I won't be so embarrassed."

"I can handle your dad, so why can't I handle your grandparents? Old people have the softest hearts," he said with a confident look.

Alexander suddenly raised his hand and interrupted, "Wait a minute, I have a question."

"Your grandpa likes coffee, but what does your grandma like?"

Elizabeth thought for a moment, "She likes rare herbs."

Alexander fell silent.

Where could he find rare herbs on short notice?

Alexander's expression showed his difficulty.

Elizabeth secretly observed his expression, coughed lightly, and said, "I was joking."
